@Busaman2013 the Hill Country loop noted above is a nice way to get out and introduce your wife too. Beware the chance of flash flooding if it has rained, otherwise the water at the deepest crossing is about 8 inches.
I already had the ham antennas so used them. I do have separate antennas however, I’m not trying to feed two radios into one antenna. I use dual band ham antennas for gmrs, because run what you brung. The swr is not an issue.
