Vincenzo,
First of all, welcome to the Overland Bound community. You'll find a wealth of information, and a lot of helpful, friendly members.
I have a new Hiker 5X8 Deluxe that we picked up from Wes in Indianapolis in September. Upon the suggestion of Wes and a bunch of folks on the private...
It is huge. On the TemboTusk Jumbo Slide, it takes up exactly half the cargo space (seats up) in my 5th Gen 4Runner.
I never would have bought it, except it was an unused demo unit from a couple of Expo-type shows, and it cost about $100 more than a new ARB 50. That's a $2700 fridge!!
Sorry...
I know. I was only joking, in that every review of a range of products has people complaining that their favorite brand wasn't covered, so the test is null and void.
Actually, you have good representation of brands. I'd never heard of Black Forest before, but familiar with Webasto for other...
Nope. Misinformation between OB HQ and the designer. That is the Atlantic Region, and consists of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
@Sam Beeson @Texarado I have updated both of your accounts, so you should now have all of the Member benefits. The member map updates at midnight Pacific time, so if you made any changes, they will show up tomorrow. I tweaked the locations so that they would resolve properly on the map.
This was exactly my thought when I bought the 4Runner two years ago. Used 200s with 50k miles were going for $20k more than a new 4Runner Trail Premium.
Next time, though...
Aluminum has a dramatically higher heat transfer rate than any plastic pipe. Our boiling water into a single wall aluminum cup and a plastic cup. Which one hurts?
I've seen several glue-together pipe versions, and I'd be leery to pressurize any to 65 PSI, which is what the new one holds.
Welcome, that's a good looking setup you have there! You will find that this is a very family friendly, helpful community, with lots to offer.
There are several Texas members here, and organized meet ups across the state. Look in the Meetups forum to see if there are any in your area. If you...
Yes, there is. You need to submit a request for it, though. Go to the "Badge" tab on the forum, and select the "Overland Bound Ambassador" track. Under that, you will see "Member II" Submit a request there, and I'll approve it.
Thanks!
It would, and I'll suggest it in the moderator discussion. Didn't know if you knew about the Follow feature, though, which could be used similarly.
Ah, okay. Yes, the Traveller I badge is awarded for adding your location in your profile, and turning on "Show on Map" in the preferences. You...
In a previous discussion, @Michael said it was a huge hit on resources, and once installed, irreversible. I don't think it has been looked at since. You can still upload images to a post instead of linking to outside sources. Then the photos won't break in the future.
If you’re using Chrome...
Hi Paul,
What badge are you looking for on the Member Map?
And an interesting suggestion. Have you considered using the "follow" feature to keep track of people that you have met? If you don't use it to follow other members for other reasons, it could be your "people I've met" list. It works...
Stuck in the middle of Kansas, south of Oakley and just off of I-70 is Monument Rocks. These are chalk pyramids left over from when Kansas was at the bottom of a sea. This was one of my must see places in Kansas when passing though. Nearby is Castle Rock, but we didn't make it there...
That was Chris you were quoting, but I'll respond, too. I think the warning was retracted, but not positive, and I'm pretty sure it was relayed to you that it wasn't warranted. Decisions of that nature are usually discussed.
