    Flashlights

That's why I settled on the Eneloop rechargeable AA and AAA batteries. They are the new pre-charged nickel–metal hydride batteries, and maintain 80% charge in a drawer after one year, and something like 60% after three. Not quite the life of a CR123, but cheaper, and rechargeable 2000 times...

    Flashlights

I just noticed that the OP specified rechargeable lights, so all of our answers are null and void. ;) I will note that every flashlight except my SureFire lights, as well as every other battery powered gizmo that I have, uses AA or AAA Eneloop rechargeable batteries. I have three chargers and...

    You have 6000$ go

This really is the best answer, and one offered in a lot of similar threads. The vehicle is very capable out of the box. Drive it and see what drags or gets bumped. Then evaluate your options.

    Flashlights

For high quality, reasonably priced LEDs, I use Fenix lights. For lights I absolutely have to have work when I poke the button, I use SureFire. [EDIT] Don't let the above dissuade anyone from Fenix. I have never had any of my five AA or AAA Fenix lights fail to work. The only one I've ever...

Tires, then $5000 toward the principal of the loan. :)

    The Northeast Expedition

If you didn't find the rest of the trip videos, they are available here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvgavtVx0tw2BR_JIkdbPVw/videos Chad posted them on the Hiker group, too, so I'd commented on there how interesting the trip was. About the same time he was up there, my brother took a...

Again, Overland Bound will not condone advocating any illegal activity. It is illegal to modify any radio to transmit on a band on which it is not certified. Understanding the laws, and choosing to ignore the laws are two completely different things. Thanks guys, for helping to make this clear!

MEMBERSHIPS, EMBLEMS AND SUPPORTERS - A Difference Explained

Welcome. I've updated your account, but you will need to add at least a nearby city to your location to be found on the map. Something that will resolve on Google Map, such as Traverse City, MI. Any map changes are updated midnight Pacific time.

Road Shower 2 Five-Gallon Pressurized Solar Shower Review

Pftt, I used to have SCUBA tanks banging around in the back of the VW, so 65 PSI on the roof doesn't bother me. ;)

Road Shower 2 Five-Gallon Pressurized Solar Shower Review

Yep, that's why I upgraded to a Road Shower 4. I'm looking forward to warmer weather to test it out and start using it!

    Anybody drive something...

There are several Subaru adventurers her, and a few Volvo wagons. Our Australian ambassador travels in a nicely equipped Kia Soul. I used to travel all over the eastern Tennessee mountains in a FIAT station wagon, and you'll see folks out and about in plenty of VW Vans. Oh, lots of members in...

Trail Rig & Daily Driver Communications

This is very good advice, and the position of the Overland Bound Staff. We do not condone offering advice that encourages anything illegal.

New Member in Johnson City TN

Hi Zac, and welcome! I spent a few vacation trips down your way back in the early '70s. Lots of dirt back roads around Watauga Lake in a '69 FIAT station wagon. Wet clay roads were slicker than snot with nylon tires.

Camp Poop (sorry for the bluntness but I want to know)

You night spend a few bucks more thank Amazon, but the guy that recommended these for you frequently extends Benefactor discounts. I bet if you PM him, you'll be pleased. https://xpeditionoutfitters.com/collections/because-everyone-has-to-poop

12v fridge: Engel, ARB, or National Luna US Support

I have no experience with any brand other than National Luna. I can say that Paul May of Equipt Outfitters offered unequivacably the best customer service I have ever experienced. Equipt is National Luna's sole US importer, and all sales are through them (other dealers are simply drop-shipped...
