Since we are using this thread now, is there a way to get this one pinned and get the old thread unpinned?

US West Meet and Greet in Temecula/Murrieta CA

We have an Inland Empire group that is active and meets every month. The next meetup is Saturday, the 29th in Riverside, see the Inland Empire thread, there is a calendar of events for 2019. There are some great people in the group, and we have a lot of fun. That being said, I’d be interested...

    Socket storage ideas

My truck sockets are on the regular metal rails, in a tool bag, and I’ve never had a problem with them. My home sockets in the toolbox are on Hansen trays, or the off brand equivalent. Loose sockets drive me crazy.

    Night Shots of Camp

I’m not too good at photography, but here’s my night shot. Full moon over Telescope Peak.

My rig is a white 1980 Toyota pickup with an aluminum camper shell. This sounds like it’s turning into quite a run, it’s going to be fun.

I missed out on a reservation too, but there is a lot of open desert out there for camping. No restrooms, water or tables, but plenty of open space. It’s been a while since I’ve been out that way, but I’ve camped in Panamint Valley before, just find a good spot and set up camp. I’m going over my...

I haven’t really thought about food, I usually keep it really simple, but I’ll have a stove for sure and can bring more stuff too. I’ll call for a campsite reservation tomorrow, hopefully they take reservations on Saturdays.

No burn areas on the trail, but you have views of the burn. Driving on the highway between Lake Hemet and Mountain Center takes you through the burn, and from Mountain Center to Idyllwild is through the burn too. A stock truck will be fine,as would a Subaru or something similar. It’s an easy...

Meeting at Panamint for breakfast would be great, that would give us plenty of time to make it to the Eureka Dunes Friday night. Closer to the trail is better anyway, my truck isn’t the best highway rig, more tortoise than hare.

T That works out better for me than Olancha.

    Dream Rig

A 1980 Toyota long bed pickup, with a Chinook camper in place of the bed, and a 4bt Cummins diesel swapped in. That would be the ultimate for me.

This sounds like fun, I really want to do a Steele pass run this year, and this looks like a great opportunity. I need to check some things, but think this might work out.

The last thing I did automotively was to drive it! I plan on going back out this weekend too. Desert season is here! Next challenge: a pic of your most recent off pavement adventure.

    Camper Shell/Overland Bars/Bed Rack?

I run a shell too. The aluminum ones hold up pretty good , mine is over 30 years old and still weather proof and solid. And I think it looks pretty good too!

I’m here in the old white Toyota pickup with the aluminum shell, what are you driving?
