Canyon 35 Qt. Cooler. USA. Made! $189.

I looked at the canyon coolers at expo west, and was impressed. The build quality looked really good, and they were reasonably priced. That being said, I got a killer deal on a slightly used yeti, and I’m done with my cooler shopping. If the deal with the yeti didn’t happen, I would have...

    Sleeping Inside Rig Bedding Recommendation

I use a blanket spread over my mattress, and in cold weather I have a 20 degree Big Agnes bag, with another old bag unzipped over the top. In warm weather, I either use a 40 degree Big Agnes bag or just the old unzipped bag. If it’s really hot, I just have a cotton bed sheet. All the bags are...

    Alloys or steel rims

Thanks! It’s just the shell over the bare truck bed right now, but I’m building a sleeping platform with drawers for it.

    Alloys or steel rims

I run steel wheels, but they are the original stock wheels with the hub caps. I want to keep the vintage look, and for what I do, the steelies are fine. Although, some bronze method wheels would look good on the truck too.

Huge props to Overland Expo West 2019! It was an amazingly, well-run, logistically thought out event, with at least double the people! WOW!

It was my first Expo as well, and I had a great time there. It was fun just walking around the camp ground seeing everyone’s setups. I’m definitely going back next year!

I changed the oil, coolant and radiator hoses, checked the other fluids, rigged up an awning, hung curtains, and sprayed a little primer and paint. The truck is ready! I just need to load it up, fill the gas tank, and I’m ready!

    What did you forget???

I’ve never forgotten anything really important, it’s usually small things. I did a backpacking trip years ago when I forgot a flashlight. And my last trip, I forgot propane, but realized it before I got to camp, and got some at the last gas stop. Little things like this can be an inconvenience...
