    New to the Overlanding lifestyle

It was sold in the states as the Mitsubishi Montero until '06 - this model is the 4th generation, which debuted in 2006 after sale of the 3rd generation ended in North America. Short wheel base models, other than early 1st generation models, weren't sold in North America. I actually own two of...

Welcome from New Zealand! I will not say you -need- 4WD to enjoy Overlanding. But, in the absence of it, you'll need to be extra-aware of your limitations, both vehicle and driver. The same obstacle a vehicle with 4WD would yawn at could be a serious situation for a 2WD vehicle. A bit of good...

    Any Ketogenic “Keto“ Overlanders?

I've been doing Keto for about 4 years and I find that it is super easy to remain strict while camping/on the road. Good deli meats and cheeses, dill pickles, mixed nuts, summer sausage, and jerky are staples for me. Where I get into trouble is alcohol. It's real hard to not have a few drinks...

    Hello from South Florida

Hello and welcome! You'll see a lot of beautiful Jeeps and LandCruisers, et al on here and it's great. But, take a moment to seriously consider what type of driving you'll actually be doing and in what types of terrain. If you are realistic with your aspirations, you'll find that it opens you...

what PSI do you run on trails?

275/65R18 Cooper Discoverer STT Pro 36PSI on road, 18PSI off. Really stiff sidewall on these, though. Hardly any 'pooch' at all - haven't tempted fate by going any lower, but 18PSI seems OK so far.

Have it done or do it myself: oil change?

This is how I look at it: How valuable is your time? Sure, I know how to change my own oil. But, by the time I purchase all the necessary oil, filters, etc., get home, setup, and perform the task, I could have had my mechanic do it for not much more money. Saving me a lot of time and effort. Not...

    Coffee Set Ups

I don't have the most refined palate when it comes to coffee - typically I do a pour over with a Hario V60 of some sort of light roast, usually taken black, or with a splash of cream if some is available. On the topic of instant coffee, the Starbucks VIA sachets aren't terrible.

Yeah. In hindsight, it was a great game. Alabama caught a few unlucky breaks, which is hard to overcome when playing a team like LSU. Looking like it might be LSU's year if they can keep on their current trajectory. Alabama might be on the outside looking in this year if some Chaos doesn't occur.

Yeah, the Montero Sport is a surprisingly capable vehicle bone-stock. Unfortunately, there isn't much of an aftermarket for off-road specific modifications, though. An Xterra would be a good option - especially a late-model one. Another one to consider would be a late-model ('06+) GM GMT360...

    Which tablet or Laptop?

Currently I am using an Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8 (6th Generation) with a Garmin GLO 2 bluetooth GPS receiver. I didn't buy the Kindle specifically for this - it's just what I had lying around, but it works really well. I am beginning to want a bigger screen, though. I will likely upgrade to an...

I hope you have better luck than me shopping for a decent XJ for a reasonable price. About 6 years ago, I had the XJ bug and was looking for a '99-'01 - it seems like people realised their popularity and were trying to capitalise. I ended up getting a really nice condition '99 Mitsubishi...
