Maybe a canvas or plastic bag? That would store easy enough.

    Death of the “Coleman” Lantern?

I have several white gas and propane. I still use them occasionally just to make sure they are operational and for short trips that space isn't such an issue. I keep them mainly for backup if the power goes out for an extended period. Would rather have a few around than not at all. LED has...

MICE IN CABIN AIR FILTER AND INTERIOR OF TRUCK!

Eleven plus one in the cup?? You might want to check with Guinness World Records!! Surely that was a litter of new mice? I've had a few mice infestations under the hood before. They had to climb up the tires to get in, right? Maybe set traps before the climb in? Or, park on a containment of...

    Outer Banks in October

It's still on my radar. Will be watching the weather and dealing with my commitment issues :grinning:

    2021

Plans are...retire in January (burning a bunch of leave until then). Maybe head West to the southern Rockies in Spring and fish my way as far north as possible. I may have to come back to cut the grass...or not.

    Camp Site Tips and Tricks.

I carry a telescoping boat hook to assist with pulling stuff out of the bed of the truck and open and close the RTT. Thought I had lost it for a minute yesterday and was already planning to get a new one! I have another in my boat also. They do have sales for about 25% off occasionally...

    Roof Top Tent (RTT) Questions

After having the Tuff Stuff Ranger for a year and liking it just fine, I got the ALPHA and really like it. Pulling that cover on the Ranger wasn't bad but the ALPHA is easier for my old bones. ALPHA is well made and king-sized bed large. Maybe bigger than I need, but the smaller Alpha II was...

    North Carolina trip

I remember the logistics involved with traveling with an infant. Ya'll are brave! I tend to avoid holidays in public areas but looks like you nailed it!

    Securing a Roof Top Tent

I have a set of these i can sell significantly cheaper. My new RTT uses a different bolt and I had to order different security nuts.

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

Sounds like an omen or some sort of sign. Glad to here you beat it. Times like those give emphasis on life's meaning.

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

Followed by wolves! Frag grenades are good but a few claymores would slow them down too:grinning:

    Who's more annoying?

I try to pull over and let faster traffic by when I am in sight-seeing mode especially when I'm driving below the speed limit. Road rage is a real thing! On the other hand...when I'm trying to get somewhere on the interstate and slow traffic clogs the left lane for no good reason...road rage...

    Fly Fishing

Which one did you get? I picked up a cheap chinese one from AliExpress a while back. Good stuff for cheap if you don't mind waiting a month or two.

    Looking for Suggestions

Hi Charles! It would probably help if you were a little more specific about what you are looking to do. Trails, terrain, dispersed camping, sites of interest, etc.? "West" is a pretty big place and many varied Parks, Forests, BLM lands, mountains, deserts, and more. Once you zero in on...

    FJ Cruiser roof top tent

Welcome to the site! RTTs aren't vehicle specific, racks are. I would encourage you to continue your research into your vehicle and what rack fits and what style you may want with particular emphasis on static and dynamic loads of the rack. There are many videos on installation of tents and...

Silly Sleeping Bag Question for RTT owners

I use an old, old Coleman canvas bag unzipped to lay on and my slippery mummy bag unzipped as a cover...unless it gets really cold. Then, it's time to zip up the mummy or even get out the extreme cold army bag that it never gets cold enough around here for. May take that bad boy to the Rockies...

    Hardshell RTT Question

It would probably work that way. You see what they are going for there. Being low like you described I would think you might want it on the passenger side just to be out of the way, or not. Other justifications I have heard was that if one HAD to setup beside a road/path you could open to the...
