I started work on CAD-ing up a small drawer system for the back of my rover for the trip. I am contemplating having a slide for a table on top of all the drawers on the passenger side... Thoughts? Most people put the table at the same height of the drawers, however I am reasonably tall (6'6")...
I'll be heading up through BC on my way to Alaska over this summer, if the dates work out I will be sure to drop by!

I'm heading through Canada this summer for a trip up to Alaska and the Yukon and I might take you up on that offer!

So I have decided to try and expand the trip a little to also include some more time in the Yukon, specifically driving the top of the world highway, as well as the Dempster.
An interesting problem I have had with using google maps to plan a summer trip, is if a road is "closed" then google...
Also, the 125 lb rating is most likely the dynamic load rating. AKA you shouldn't be driving with more then 125 lbs on the rack, however most rack's static load rating is much higher, around 300-500. Depends on the rack though, so don't rely on only my $.02
Just finished getting my new brush guard mounted up front! Its a super tight fit due to also having a front bash plate installed, but it in. Ill post better photos of the rig posing in the future
I don't know about other vehicles, but I know for my discovery, Land Rover went ahead and figured out that the resonate frequency of the truck and suspension is about 20-35 MPH, so traveling at those speeds can help smooth things out without going too over the top with speed
You do not need any special permits to be able to drive through Canada, but you do need a passport to get back into the states (Interestingly, you don't need one just to enter Canada, you just couldn't get back into the states).
I don't plan on going solo, while its not set in stone I might...
Sure! She doesn't have much extra's on right now, I wanted to spend my time and money on ensuring that the rig was sound in all aspects before I started putting my money and time towards modifying. Here is how she is right now.

On the note of bears:
I have lived in Goleta California all my life and grown up with pretty adventurous parents, so I have spent quite a few days hiking around the area (For people who may not know, this area of California is home to the Grizzly (Brown) bear as well as a fair number of snakes)...
Drove five hours round trip yesterday to go and pick this up for the rover!

EDIT: It doesn't seem to want to upload the image from my phone... (I got a new brush guard for the front)
Of course! You just have to turn the base map over to "Oh f**k this s**t"
But In all seriousness about bears, I'll post some information regarding what I know and what my plan is for the trip in the front of bears.

So I have just finished planning out the preliminary plan for heading out to Deadhorse, its up on the maps on the first link.
I didn't realize that on the Dalton highway, you are allowed to get off at any point to camp or hike, as long as you are not blocking access to the pipeline.
The current plan is that the trip will take about 21 days, averaging 300 miles a day on the way up, and then 500 miles a day on the way back down. Most nights will be spent camping, with some nights in motels spread out as some relief. (If you play your cards right, a motel can be nearly as...
Alaska has always been on my bucket list for place that I wanted to visit, and specifically the Arctic Circle. In an effort to make that dream a reality, I am planning a trip for this summer that is going to take me all the way up to DeadHorse Alaska, on the cheap.
Ill post about my plans and...
I personally don't like using just a hitch pin, it's adding a bending moment to the pin, which is ment for a sheer load. So I prefer to use the little insert you put in the receiver, add the pin, and then hook a shackle up to it.
