Yes, I've seen a few profiles "hack" the callsign section and add other callsigns/fake nicknames etc. I would like this to be completely legitimate, I personally won't claim a badge I don't technically meet.
I just checked out the website. Thanks for doing all this, I'm a registered Wounded Warrior at WWP. Their events are awesome but there aren't any off-road/camping specific ones around my area. Let's get in touch!
Now, to answer the topic at hand. The only thing that will kill overlanding is the destruction or otherwise closure of our trails. There are a lot of groups fighting against the off-road communities who don't want vehicles anywhere near the parks/forests etc. It's important to spread awareness...
It would seem my favorite sport is spending money. I have thousands sunk into all sorts of stuff that I hardly do. Snowboards and gear for the wife and I to go maybe once a year at best. Professional level paintball guns in a duffel bag that hasn't even been opened in 10 years... I...
I would love to see the option to add more radio callsigns. Currently of course, it only allows HAM. I'd like to be able to display my GMRS callsign, as a non HAM user. For purposes of keeping the forum clean, maybe allow only one to be selected as "featured". And to cover all bases I would like...
This has been posted for two weeks with no responses, and the event was in two more weeks. I'm going to leave this up for a day or two so everyone can see, but let's reschedule. Please reach out if you would be interested but these dates just don't work out for you! I could work something out...
Party pooper? The wave is all in good fun and respect for others. I don't gatekeep good etiquette. Cool rides get waves from me, and everyone I pass on the trail.
Sheesh that happened right when I moved here. Never heard the story.
My brother is a Park Ranger, worked in VA, GA, UT, I think a couple more places. He carries a paintball gun on duty, and earned himself the name "Walks With Bears." Only time I've ever encountered a bear was driving through...
Oh gosh, the ignorance is what I'm trying to educate out of our trails. I've contacted Facebook admins from groups in my area who ended up being completely unaware they were wheeling in illegal areas near where I live. Let's not derail this thread but yeah, I hear ya! :sunglasses:
We all wave at each other around here in Ocean County NJ. Jeeps and Broncos as one! I think it comes from the trails abundant here, everyone waves at passing groups offroad so it just bled out onto the streets too. If you're built up or just covered in mud, you'll get a wave. Hell, I even got a...
If it were my setup, I would cut slits in the rubber mat so you can pull the d-rings through while you need them then drop them back through when you don't.
Brews n' You, all you have to bring is yourself! Gather the family out for lunch at a fun restaurant and swap stories in front of each others awesome rigs. Immediately followed by a self guided tour of local historic sites and incredible views.
