    Bear country

Yeah we lost another "antler" collector yesterday to a bear in Yellowstone. I just don't know why some folks don't get this! It's really simple to have some sort of situational awareness. Zim

    Drawer Slide Corrosion. Any ideas?

Just like a tool box in a garage, the change in temp from day to day will test your ability to keep it clean. I don't think there's any way to absolutely coat the entire slide, nor do I think it's necessary. Unless it's binding, lube it and let it fly. LOL Zim EDIT. White lith is okay. Spray...

Tacoma V Bronco for Overlanding, your opinions

Great points. I loved the Toyota but cramped is exactly what we experienced. Enough storage, but the travel "space" in the cab sucked. LOL And that's 80% of the trip. I think the Bronco is slightly smaller (at least in feel). We went full size and loving the room. We can play tennis in the...

    GFC style wedge campers

I built my camper (not a wedge but not important) and we were out almost 100 times last year. I wore the doors out. LOL So if you're only out twice a year, no. No doors. I wanted quick access to my charging station, solar production and compressed air. And I used it.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I'm done. I'm sure y'all glad too. LMAO. One of the hardest things I've ever made because AWKWARD! LOL So now on to the headache rack. Will be lots easier than this SOB. (disclaimer; I did not make the brush guard, just the bumper in 3 pcs.) Winch is on the way. Zim

    My Trauma Kit

Yeah the program is pretty intense. My "practical" sessions were nerve racking. Lots of pressure. @shansonpac was spot on with his comment. The real problem in most of our backcountry incidents will be evacuation. Helicopters can be expensive but will save a life. I know in Europe, a ride in one...

    My Trauma Kit

Some training would help too. The Red Cross offers many courses on first aid, CPR etc. This is one of the most comprehensive outdoor emergency care manuals available. Not sure of the cost now but it's not cheap. LOL. Lots of great information. Nice work @OldManJack Zim

    Garmin Overlander

Very pricey. And, private land owner information. I don't think I need to know who owns the cattle farm up the road from the park. LMAO Zim

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Metal prices vary. I went to a metal supplier and got end cuts that I could use. Sold by the pound. Eighth inch, I'm in for $300 Brush guard was $750 14" light bar was $65 2 Amazon light pods were very very very cheap $28 So the $3000 bumper will cost me just over a Thousand. Badlands winch is...

    GoPro? Or?

GoPro's are great. I got the older Hero 7 Black and love it. They are still available at a good price and do everything I want it to do. All of my video is made with this except the drone stuff. I have video on my Sony and don't use it yet. LOL (5) North American Sojourner - YouTube Zim

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I'm $599 short. Harbor Freight said they are no longer sponsoring anyone so I'll have a gapping hole there in the middle until my drug deals come through. Ahahahahahahahahha. Thanks Shahn. Zim

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Fabricated the middle part, hung the light. Going to take a few days off and rest, then take it all apart for paint and final assembly. I'm a tired old man. This whole thing is off at least a half a inch so I'll get it straight when I final assemble. You have no idea how heavy and awkward this...
