Rhino Roof rack lighting choices on a Jeep Wrangler

If you would like to save some money, I just bought a 14" double row LED light bar from Harbor Freight for $65. It's heavy, bright and burned down a small forest when I turned it on. Zim

Ever wonder what happens if you break a ball joint on the trail?

So let's talk shops. Dealerships are on the way out for service. I've worked for Ford and Kia as a service tech. Loyalty has disappeared with the customer/dealership experience. This is due to the "units out the door" mentality. Sell and hope it won't return. If it returns, throw parts at it...

Ever wonder what happens if you break a ball joint on the trail?

Autozone will loan you the tool for free. You pay a deposit, and get it back when you bring it back. Zim

Ever wonder what happens if you break a ball joint on the trail?

In Missouri, ball joint inspection is mandatory for the annual inspection. Remember, these service techs are paid flat rate. Most ball joints pay at least 2 hours and that's about $200 labor, at least. That's food on the table, diapers on the butt, and gas in the tank. Zim

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Love that. Only reason I haven't done mine is 10 years on 3 ships going red at night. LMAO Still thinking of doing the cab. Zim

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Okay, back to the rig. LOL. Got some flush mount lights for lower ditch light. I've got 4 other pod lights I'll put on hood hinge brackets, and 2 for the backup lightup. Zim Not bad for $25 on amazon.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

    CO2 Bottle

This. Don't go to Praxair, Airgas. They only fill their bottles. My local place actually now sends them off to another facility and they have all the equipment there. Sad. Zim

ARB dual compressors mount in a RAM 2500 diesel

In your custom built shell with the other electronics....lol. Kidding. The bed of the truck for me. Less heat, easy access. Zim

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

The biggest problem with the HF bender is radius and kinking. If you watch the video on their site it actually shows the pipe kinked (after he says without kinking LOL). I've bent hundreds of feet of tube, not pipe and it really requires a follower die. Here's one I helped bend up with a JD...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Been there and done that. LOL. Hey, they only took off a chunk of my ear. I was happy about that. Zim

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I use basic hand tools but the introduction of the mini saw was a game changer. (eliminated the expensive plasma cutter) The ability to cut 1/8th inch steel with a circular saw is amazing. Add a welder and some clamps and you're done. Welder from Eastwood-$450 Mini Saw-$118 Standing beside your...

Ever wonder what happens if you break a ball joint on the trail?

My guys checked ball joints every car and truck. It's a money maker. Another reason is camber/caster/tow can be affected. Anytime the vehicle is off the ground 4" use a prybar under the tire and lift up gently. You'll know by watching the ball joint if it needs to be replaced. Zim

I wanna run solar on my camper shell

No not that I can remember. The Toyota was a noise ride anyway but I'm tolerable of that. There is a swivel mount smaller panel I'd be interested in or maybe make one. Waiting for a new shell for that project. Thanks Zim

Thanks Sir. Should be simple in/out. Had some on my nose 5 years ago and it's still gone. Glasses don't fit as well. LMAO Zim

I wanna run solar on my camper shell

I did it on my shell. Then mounted the kayak up there, and completely blocked the sun for like 5 hours. LOL. It's a good idea tho. Zim

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Finished up the passenger side. Both sides are secure, and the outer supports are attached. Now to the middle section. Weather is going to be crappy for the next few days, and tomorrow I get my ear cut off...LOL. (some cancer so not sure how much ear) This project has been rough on me. I've...
