Lol, I know. Those guys are something else. I just love off-road machines, and that's a great one. How boring would it all be if they were all the same. The most fun, to me, is wheeling with a group that has a variety of machines. It makes for great campfire conversation to see what unique...
Btw, A few buddies and I are heading to Moab in October, leaving on the 18th for about a week long trip. We'll be doing the Rimrocker trail on the way out. If you Hoosiers are interested, we'd love to have you along! We haven't completely decided all of the trails we'll do, but Finns N Things...
The Ozark Trails are a good value for the performance. I've got a 50 dollar Wal Mart Ozark Trail soft sided cooler with leak proof zippers. It works really well and those zippers really don't leak! It's narrow and tall dimensions make it easy to pack without taking too much room.
Has anyone done this trail? I've read it is 162 miles. Can it be done in a day? (12 hours?) I'm heading with some friends to Moab in October and we're looking at taking this trail on the last leg of the trip there.
Is that a better route? Our plan is to overnight at a hotel in Montrose...
The JL is currently in summer configuration with doors off nearly all the time. I'm starting to get it ready for an October trip to Moab. It has a 2" Mopar lift and 315/70/17 KO2 tires. I'll be adding a Snomaster refrigerator, some chairs, tent, and camping gear, a GMRS radio (in addition to...
With the trips I take, I won't be 5 days between resupply, so I can get by with the 37. The footprint in my cargo area is of high importance. If I had more room, I'd go with a 62 quart.
The Snomaster rep is ordering insulated covers for the LS35 and he told me he'd give me a great deal on the...
The JK really has aged well and is in excellent shape. It runs and drives like new, but I'm almost obsessive about maintenance, too. I've been to the Easter Jeep Safari, but I've heard it is even better in October. Can't wait!
I love the variety of rigs in here. So many great machines...
Both of my Jeeps are going to Moab in October, via the Rimrocker Trail. I'm getting ready to equip the JL with either an ARB or Snomaster fridge. I'm also upping the protection on the JL, with Dana/Spicer armored diff covers and possibly an Artec Industries aluminum oil pan/transmission/gas...
I'll be most likely using two tie-down loops in the floor of my Jeep, depending on how it sits. I won't know for sure until I get the fridge, which will be either an ARB 37 or a Snomaster LS35. Hopefully in a week or two, I'll have the fridge and have this figured out.
I've heard of ARB's lasting many years, but their warranty currently is 3. 7 is the longest I've seen. I am waiting to hear back on a deal on the ARB, so it might wind up the one, if I can get it for less than the Snomaster. I'll know in a few days.
I'm getting ready to buy a fridge for my Jeep. I've narrowed it down to two, after considering my needs, size, and weight, along with desired features. I'm down to the Snomaster LS35 and the ARB 37. I can get a deal on the Snomaster that is about 70 or so bucks cheaper than the ARB. On top...
