I'm in Hendricks County. I've got two Jeeps, including an 08 Rubicon with lots of miles and memories, and a new JL Rubicon I acquired in January. I'm 49 and have 9 kids (yes, 9) who are all still school age, ranging fom 7 to 16. My kids and I like to explore and go offroad. My wife is...
That bug curtain is a brilliant idea! The lack of bug free ventilation is one of the big reasons I've never wanted to even try to sleep in my Jeeps! It looks really tidy and well executed.
I'm going with a CB and GMRS. HAM is neat, but I've not got the time to deal with licensing and then really learning all I'd need to know. Maybe one day, though.
That's where I'm leaning toward placing it. I'm usually in the slow lane, too, taking in what there is to be seen!
Edit...I'm now thinking left rear, under the left tail light. Since faster drivers will come up on me, they'll see it, and when parked in a parking lot, it will be easier to see...
Snomaster gave me a great deal on the LS35. They have just one and are shipping it from CA. Not sure when it will ship, but I can't wait to try it out. They also said they are ordering covers for it and will send one to me when they arrive. They don't show any insulated covers on their...
Ok, as I wait on my emblem, what is the preferred location? Right front, left front, right rear, left rear? I'm just wondering where members like to look so I can make it easy to spot. Right now, I'm leaning toward the left front fender area of my Jeep.
There was one good loop trail around part of it when I was there 4 or 5 years ago. It was very muddy, but had no deep bogs. I had to winch a tree out of the way that had fallen and had to carefully squeeze under another. Othewise, it was a nice trail with some gentle hills. I had it saved on...
I've been to Turkey Bay several times, but didn't know they had other trails, dirt roads, or gravel roads. I'm going to see if I can get down there with you guys. It's been a long time since I've been there.
We need some pics! You could go with that Holley or I'm sure there are dozens of aftermarket fuel injection kits for that engine. They'd probably liven it up a bit, too.
My wife is the same way. Usually, though, she won't barf, but instead sleeps. And sleeps....and sleeps. Non-drowsy Dramamine helps her greatly. I've tried to teach her to visualize and pretend she's driving. She won't do it, but it cures me anytime I get a little motion sickness. I did it...
Are you all planning to do Turkey Bay while there? That's one of my favorite places to off-road. The whole area is beautiful, actually. IIRC, there is also a shooting range there, as well. Lots to do and see there! I may try and join yoou down there, if I get the opportunity.
Looks like a great rig! If I lived closer, I'd give it a serious look. I'm up to my ears in vehicles, but for that price, I'd make that a heck of a fun daily driver!
Slightly OT....How do you like that DJI Spark drone? I'm needing a relatively inexpensive drone to take on a trip to Colorado and Moab in October. I don't have a huge budget. The Spark can be had used or refurbished, with controller, for around 300 bucks. New for 399. Worth it? Your shots...
It makes no sense that they can't serve people better than this, as much as we pay for government. They have no excuse for what they are putting you through.
