I’m from southern new York. About an hour north west of New York City. I’m relatively new to the form. Relatively new to camping and exploration. Novice off-roader. Looking for some people to get together with!
Was thinking of heading to this area one of these weekends. It’s a drive for me so I’d have to camp out. I was thinking of doing the peters mill run. Any good camping spots in the area?
If you guys ever have room for another rig let me know! I was near Indian lake and lake George a couple months ago but I was working all weekend. No time to explore. It looked like a beautiful area of New York.
This just goes to show that you don’t need a fancy 4Runner or huge droopy suspension on a Jeep to go overlanding. If a minivan gets you out and enjoying nature. That’s all that matters. It’s all about getting out and enjoying nature. A nice comfy rig you can enjoy, drive for hours...
Garden state overland is part of it so I’m assuming it’s some different rigs. I’m bringing a new body style jeep cherokee. Someone else who rsvp’d, his picture is an older 4Runner
Ms.mango the orange 2014 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk. Lifted 2.5 inches 30.5” goodyear duratracs, sliders, steel roof rails, rear elocker. Hope to have some 32” tires on it next year and a winch but she works great thus far.

Was listening to a podcast about this today. They brought up a bunch of great points both good and bad. I know nothing about this but there’s what the podcast said
The good:
-in areas around the poles, gps devices have some trouble tracking because of where the satellites are. They...
I feel like a lot of jersey is exactly what your pictures looked like. Dirt roads through pine trees. As someone also just starting, I tried to go wheeling as much as I could with a stock vehicle. That gave me a very good sense of exactly what I needed. As I went I upgraded parts that I...
As someone who is just getting into overland and camping really, my experience is pretty basic. I grew up with a family that loved the indoors. They hate the outdoors, never went outside, never went on hikes or enjoyed nature. I was the exact opposite. As soon as I was able to explore on...
Iv always had a question here. What do the pressure readings from a pressure gauge tell you? When your driving on the street, the air heats up and the pressure is slightly higher. So when your airing down to 20psi. Is that 20psi hot? Or do you sit down to say 22 in anticipation of the...
