    Air hose

For exterior air lines exposed to the environment I've had good luck with Polyurethane air hoses. Originally I used rubber hose and it failed after about 5 years. For air hoses carried coiled up inside the truck I like Flexizilla since it is fairly lightweight, flexible, and easy to roll up.

    Exterior Electrical Connections

Just to clarify, are you looking for a weather proof normal "3 prong" US outlet for the exterior of your truck?

    Rig Photos

Here's my TRD collection. Both actually might go up for sale in the near future so I can buy a newer 4Runner. I feel guilty that the above picture is not on dirt, so here are some pictures that various rigs have made possible.

We’re Stumped! Cargo Drawer Hardware Ideas?

Interesting project. A couple questions: - How thick is the base plate, 3/4"? - Do the cabinets need to slide in and out, or can they be installed and then bolted down? One easy solution you have probably considered is to mount T-nuts on the bottom of the base plate and then using knurled knobs...

    Tahoe/Rubicon Trail?

Even with these "modifications" the Rubicon trail is no joke and would be a real challenge for most vehicles and drivers.

    Tahoe/Rubicon Trail?

Now that the Gatekeeper and Little Sluice have been blown up it's pretty much a paved road (not really). :) Pictures are from before the dynamite.

    Pismo / Oceano Dunes recommendations?

The "sand highway" near the water is a few miles long and an easy drive, in fact we drove our MDX with bald tires at full street pressure all the way to the end of the road this summer. If you head inland into the dunes be sure to air down and bring some recovery gear, getting towed out of there...

What would you do here? Simple Skin Avulsion [WARNING: POST CONTAINS GRAPHIC IMAGES]

Are there any alternative dressings you would recommend if a non-stick pad is not available? I'm assuming a standard gauze dressing would not be ideal since it would stick to the wound and be difficult to remove. Trying to determine if it makes sense to add non-stick pads to my first aid kit...

    Belts and hoses

How recently have you replaced the belts and hoses on your FJ80? If it has been a while I recommend putting new belts and hoses on the truck and then keeping the old parts as trail spares. If you do the work yourself then you'll know how to change them on the trail if the situation arises...

    4, 88, 80, & 134 during the winter

I think most dirt roads are closed to 4x4 for the winter. You could check out the Mormon Immigrant Trail, it's paved but not plowed and appears to be open for 4wd use. https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/eldorado/home/?cid=fsbdev7_019037

    Escalante/Powell Trip

+1 for Hole in the Rock Road. There are several slot canyons on that road that are fun to explore, I can personally recommend Peek-a-boo and Spooky.

    Sleep System

For a pad I use an Exped Downmat 9 dlx, it's expensive but provides a lot of insulation from the ground (R8) Up top I use a Zenbivy. I really like the quilt setup and it packs down small. I sleep cold and have had the Zenbivy down into the high 30s where it worked fine, but I was not 100% warm...

    4Runner - Dual/Single battery

I wouldn't be too concerned with the fridge killing your battery since most 12v fridges have a low-voltage shut off. My Edgestar fridge has reached the voltage cut off many times and I've never had an issue with starting the truck. That said, if you have other draws such as lights or charging a...

    Socket storage ideas

I'm a big fan of socket rails for both the truck and at home. I use a combination of rails from Craftsman and Harbor Freight and have never had an issue with sockets falling off. My 1/2" impact sockets came in a nice metal case so I left them in there.

What would you do here? Chainsaw Injury [WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGE IN THE POST]
