Hey nothing wrong with stock :)
KISS is our motto here in the Northwest. @Sandpoint Steve also runs a 4th Gen Runner which is an inspiration to mild upgrades built for simplicity and on the cheap.
Welcome Deric,
Nice 4runner. The 2004 Runners were the best of the best, Just ask @KRose and @Sandpoint Steve .

Best place to look is your local fam fabricator.... stuff that old it’s hard to come by... I’m having similar issues with my 89 Bronco...what I’m finding is either DIY kits, or local fabricators... one last option is to get a HF welder and weld up your own.
Silver tin has some really neat places to explore... I love the Hurricane Creek Trail... I used to drive it two to three times a year when I lived up by GJ.

I’m becoming a VE as soon as I take the time to take the open book test and submit the paperwork. Get in touch with @brien for more information about the Official Overland Bound Ham Club that is in the works. Also your idea is exactly what we are trying to put together here in the Northwest.
Have fun at the lakes.
I spent the day yesterday doing boat stuff... got my boat licensed and registered, took my boat safety class, now all that is left to do to get into the water is lengthen the safety chains on the trailer and lengthen the the trailer light pigtail so I have lights. Then...
Well after a full week of messing around with HF antennas, I got one to finally work on all bands but the 80m. I still can’t get a good useable SWR on 80m and the noise is above S9... I’m working on building an 80m Hamstick Dipole for 80m, although it will probably be a multi band antenna as...
