I do see your point. However, what about those relatively puny conduit clamps? I suppose I'd feel better with something more substantial holding the fist on. And while we dont get temps over 100° F very often, we do get very cold for long spells at a time. That type of plastic and rubber might...
Probably just fine for on a trail, but I have to wonder whether or not these hold up in a crash at highway speeds. I imagine the shovel becomes a projectile
Yeah I thought that might not be you and your rig but it was obvious this was the same type of rig. Plus a good explanation of what he had done with it. Nice ride you've got there. Looks showroom condition.
I do have the 4.0 inline 6 cylinder and I find it a dream to work on. All the plugs...
Much much nicer than my '99 WJ. I did not know Land Rover used a Buick engine block for that. Sweet ride! Looks to be in very good shape.
I put 2 inches of coil spring lift, shocks, anti-swaybar links, coil spring isolators my WJ and added taller wheels. So that's sitting 3 inches above stock...
Well in my attemp to be tongue in cheek in my post you quoted and responded to, I probably didnt come across as clever as i intended.
I didn't know the LR2 was an all-time 4 wheel drive. How is it on fuel?
Ho-ly-SMOKES!
I agree with LanLubber. I applaud your skill sir! I would have been left searching for a different vehicle with 4x4.
Should have called you before I junked my old Blazer for frame issues
Sorry to take up so much space here but one of the main reasons I even lifted my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee was because it wasn't high enough to ride over snow that my k5 could plow through or over effortlessly. But I admit, I sure like the look of it lifted
I know, right? Good post. To those who really can go out there for even 1 month straight, my hats off to you. I would LOVE to be able to do that. That and get paid to play with my Beagle all day.
-RTT for me is sleeping in a regular tent or under my truck cap.
-Awning is my blue tarp, tied...
A cap will create less wind drag than a roof tent. Maybe that doesnt matter on dessert roads and logging trails as much, but I presume you have to do some highway to get where you are going? If not then ok. But Ipersonally like the cap because it gives me the versatility.
New caps range from...
RockyMountaineer,
Yeah I got a used Leer and put it on my 14 Sierra. It's just a double cab, though. I thought it would be fine, and it will be, but man, the extra back seat space in the crew cabs really makes a difference
I appreciate that you are not picking on me. And I appreciate the lesson in all the different firearms and thier various uses and the hunting explanation. Along with the differences between 2wd, 4wd, and modded 4wd. I appreciate that others could benefit from it but it was unnecessary for me
I...
This is funny but kinda true. If you watch a lot of TV and movies, and that's how you want to shoot, you will be emptying your AK47 into all the cars, walls and industrial equipment while everyone is hiding behind them. Me? If there's only 2 guns allowed in thatfight, and my choices are that I...

This.
Did I already say it? That my brother, father and I went logging practically every weekend in the Adirondacks in the late 70's early 80's. And we drove his stock, 2WD, 1978 forest green metallic Ford truck. F150? F100? Full size Ranger I want to say but I'm not sure. Anyway...Never...
These do look like they could fit the bill. I like the lack of downward rake and no chin strap. I like the skid plate. It does look like these new Z71's are getting back to what a z71 should be.
Another point: I wish to hell Chevy had gone retro with the new Blazer. A nice bare bones truck with...
The old z71 was what the new Trail Boss is now. Over time, GM lowered the front end and added that *REDICULOUS* chin strap under the front bumper - even on the Z71. And they made the front skid plate plastic. AT4 is nothing more than a GMC branding of essentially the Z71.
As a matter of fact...
