I'm not experienced as many of you but i think when we start talking about narrow steep trails that a Tahoe or a Sierra cannot get through, I think we are starting to get into 4-wheeling as opposed to Overlanding. Not saying it wouldnt be cooler to be able to get down narrower trails, but I do...
That's a badass lookin truck. I like the steel wheels, the tow mirrors and the roof rack. Hadn't considered a push-bar but I am now.
And I see you have your L'il Will CB Antenna up top center, as do I.
I like the wheels, tires and stance. Something I'm missing.
Here's mine. Almost there.
Sorry for the Wall Of Text but here goes...
Yep. Take some trips. Decide what you could use. Most recently, I started out with a 14 GMC Sierra with a soft tonneau. It was nice for keeping things mostly dry and out of sight, but wasn't truly secure. I removed the tonneau and got a diamond deck...
Right! Most specifically a "Democratic Representative Republic." But yes. Ask any kid today what kind of government we have and they spit out "Democracy." When I point out the meaning of THAT word, I explain to them that if that were true, a room full of 10 men could be allowed to "get intimate...
Just casual interest, but dont you STILL have to put that on ramps or jack up the front if you want the oil to drain out properly?
Having said that, starter replacement will be a breeze. Without any mods at all I shimmied under my '93 K1500 Blazer and reached up in order to get my started out...
I'm not a Canadian but I can at least give you some details how it works in the US. The laws do in fact vary by state (province, to you). There are a number of states with stronger laws than others, to the point where a number of other states will provide reciprocity. If you have a license in...
Sometimes I'm not so sure the Boston area is where I'm supposed to be. I dont have to carry open. I dont have to carry I large knife. Most often I dont. But, if I did happen to be carrying something open or large (hold the comments, peanut gallery), I dont like that there might have to be a...
I love my 14 GMC Sierra. Great platform. As you mentioned 500 miles between highway fill ups. Being newer with newer technology, I can often squeeze out almost 600.
Just removing the front bumper valence alone gets you about 4 inches or more of clearance there. Much better angle of approach...
I think a .357 is one of the best all around firearms. Load it with .38 if you want, as even a standard .38 load (non parabellum) hits harder than a standard 9mm. Or load it with +p or .357 ammo. Versatile and reliable. Misfire? No need to tap, rack bang, even. Simply squeeze the trigger again...
Let me start again by saying I am a gun owner. Have been for decades. But I know that for many people, the sight of a firearm is associated with police or military activity or personnel, and I am neither. So when I carry, I carry concealed unless otherwise mandated.
Also, while I understand...
Yeah I'm planning to put in the Bilstein 5100's to give the front another 2 inches, sort of level it off. Shield the underside. Some medium aggressive tires and I should be good.
There's just something really great about those GMT 400 series trucks. A lot of things, really. Still my favorite design, even with that squared instrument panel and a radio that looked like a calculator.
The 5.7 was just such a solid engine. If only they could have paired it with a six or...
This is all good info and I'm paying attention trying to decide what I want to do.
I would imagine that a powerful light inside the cap, while intended to be used for lighting the area outside the cap, would definitely attract flying insects of every sort from here to Christmas (presuming the...
Take another look at the picture I posted and you will see the numerous bolt holes, the larger tabs/clips near the curved ends, and the many smaller tabs along the center. You will also see that the plastic insert between my tow hooks is intact and still solidly in place.
Happy to help but you are mistaken, sir. The air dam actually does not extend up between the recovery hooks, although from eye height it appears to do so. I assure you it does not.
Get it on a ramp or a 4x4 wood slab, and hop under there with a 10mm ratcheting box end flat wrench.
There are 12...
Wagon Mitch, is that a fold down window, or a removable window. Mine unlatches and then I can pull the top out and towards me (towards the back of the truck) and then lift and pull it right out. You may have room for that
