Yea the 400 wasn’t their best engine (Chevy 400 wasn’t great either... it was notorious for cracking the block between cylinders). The 289, 302, 351 were all great engines. And I agree the 2nd gen Broncos are a great platform. I would love me a 78 in Starburst.
No not the 12v power... as I always use the 12v to power my trailer battery while driving... use the oem trailer brake wire, wire in a third relay triggered by the brake pedal, powered off the brake controller, and sent to the the other two relays.

It could be done.... unfortunately... industry standards.... largest trailer connector is a 7 pin RV style... although typically the reverse lead isn’t used along with one other wire (I for get wich one at the moment... so you could use that... and hope you never tow anything with a 7 pin.
Probably not to many people will run a 10m rig for Overlanding since the majority of the band requires a General Class license, but true that be told, any band would work for coms... we just prefer 2m/70cm bands because a tech can use them, and they generally have repeaters on those bands.
Hey don’t feel bad Dustin, my transmission was supposed to be in the Bronco back in March, and the winch installed back in April... I’m working on the winch right now, but the transmission isn’t going to happen until late August at the soonest... might have to hold off for a bit longer as I need...
Actually very easy... 3 position momentary toggle/rocker switch, 2 relays, An extra trailer connector and a 12 gauge duplex wire long enough to go from the back of the trailer to the front of the rig.
For the trailer side, splice the duplex wire into the left and right trailer brake hot wires...
Yup, just ordered it... realized that Kallie’s 4Runner wasn’t going to do well with 2 coolers, and 4 people on this trip coming up. I’ll give a full review next week... if you notice, they have a 5 payment plan for Amazon Prime members... no credit checks... I used that option, but will pay it...
That’s awfully small... the tent and awning both measure 6.5 feet packed up... but it does look like a good product. @KRose wants a specific rack... as it will allow the sunroof to still open and has mounts for a light bar.
I’m very very excited for this trip. I have all kinds of new gear to test out. An Electric Fridge, Gazelle T4 Plus, Kelty Double Sleeping Bag, and Kelty Double sleeping pad, along with @KRose 4Runner.
We have done a few FS roads in the 4Runner; but haven’t actually loaded it up with gear and...
@MOAK i don’t know how I missed this earlier. Thanks for the Bronco love. I’m going to start a build thread on the Adventure Machine soon. I finally have enough progress and a clear direction of where I’m heading with it to make an interesting.
I got to see an Orca cooler last month... I’m...
Well I finally ordered it... it will be here Thursday, just in time for me to unbox it and throw it into the back of @KRose 4Runner and head out to the Cascades Trip. This will be the maiden voyage for her 4Runner.
