Ok this isn’t the typical cry out I have “X” rig and “y” radio and need “z” antenna.
I am looking for a good source for antenna parts.... specifically looking for antenna isolator washers. The plastic washer that isolates the 3/8” bolt from the mount. I have a home brewed antenna project that...
Finishing my morning cup of coffee, then heading to the part store to get the “correct” bolts for my winch install. I remember being a new parts counter clerk so I will go easy on the kid. He need to learn when people bring in wire stuff not to be in the mind set of “we don’t have it”, and...
On the eastern side of your state they are testing every other month. 20 people got their tech license last Sunday, 5 upgraded to General, and 3 Extra Upgrades from one test session.
My club is offering testing case by case. In fact we tested last Saturday and I hear we are testing again very...

Well how the heck can a parts guy screw up a bolt order... ordered 1/2” x 1” NF bolts, got 7/16” x 2 1/2” NC. Guess I know what I’m doing in the morning.
Just got off the phone with my brother... he says it might be a week or so before he can get to my project... ohh well, at least the winch will be mounted, and I have many other projects to tackle over the next few weeks.
Thinking hard on getting the engine refreshed and have the ZF5 rebuilt...
I shouldn’t need to weld it to the bumper... the bumper isn’t stout enough to even get a decent pull off of... the plan is to make the side bars poke through the bumper... and the bumper has a lot of adjustment for up, down, and side to side... I’m sure I will get the bumper back on without...
The stock bumper will move out about 2”, but it didn’t fit snuggly to the frame to begin with.
The bar I’m holding in my hand attaches to the winch cradle allowing me to bolt the cradle through the sides of the frame as well as the bottom of the frame. I’m probably going to bolt it all...
I’m getting excited for this trip... wish Kallie would last us take the Bronco... working on winch install and power steering swap right now... if I feel ambitious I might even do the alternator upgrade this weekend too.
I think he is referring to Life4pro batteries and other new battery technologies that need a charge protection circuit with the ability to monitor heat dissipation due to the way their chemistry works.
The SINGARS I was referring to earlier was version Delta or Echo, by the time I got out in ‘13 SINGAR system was completely updated with satellite capabilities... I was coordinating from Afghanistan back to the Pentagon using VHF and satellites.
intra-grouping of APRS is possible I think, I...
I looked into it hard for quite some time before deciding to fabricate my own tray. I can’t take credit for my winch mount, it’s a pretty well documented and strait forward fabrication project... only needs a grinder and a drill, a welder and a floor jack make it a little better... I’m thinking...
No problem. It’s easier said than done... several calls and emails might have to be made... don’t be shy with the answering machine. Leave a detailed message and let the rangers know you plan on sending a fallow up email... some ranger stations are working remotely and rely on their email and...
