The Beginning is the End is the Beginning (The continuing journey of the “Adventure Machine”)

You’re two days late John, I picked up a engine hoist late Thursday night and rented it through till Monday. I would much rather barrowed one (or even bought my own) had I known how much the rental fee was going to be. as for Bronco parts... about the only thing I’m really lacking is the seat...

    Has overlanding become elitist ?

That’s why I live in a travel trailer... I got tired of paying $1000 + utilities for a 1 bedroom apartment when a nice used travel trailer is only $2-10,000, and lot rent is typically under $400 with full services (minus gas which is running me about $3-400/ year). With my income I can’t afford...

Who else brings a grill?-1 cooking device to rule them all!

I use a home made grill... it works off of propane, wood, or briquettes. For grilling I usually use wood or briquettes and use the propane for heating water

Whats a good battery setup for a camper trailer?

I live full time in my 32’ travel trailer... I run 2 Walmart group 29 Deepcycle Marine Batteries in series. They are cheap and reliable.. btw, the batteries are about 5 years old and I still can go 2 days between charges running lights, fridge, and other 12 volt accessories... I have however...

    Who's more annoying?

Just an FYI on driving however you want on FS roads (meaning driving fast) we just had a fire rig jump off the road to get out of the way of some suv flying up the road... the driver is in critical condition at the moment. The driver of the SUV is currently being hunted by OSP, Sheriff, and...

    Ham Testing

For the tech exam, just memorize the answers... don’t try to understand the information... once you get your ticket and get on the air things start making sense... once you upgrade to general and extra, then take the time to understand the information.

    Ham Testing

No problem... I’m sure you are going to have a lot more questions (I know I did/do) when I first started out.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I kicked the transfer case to the ground... didn’t have the correct tools to pull it off, so a little prying and a subtle push with the legs and down she came... why am I even doing this any more... it’s going to be three days before I can get under there and try to pull the transmission.
