I just cleared the snow off of it. Poor thing doesnt even start, it's been so cold. I've been treating it like a red-headed stepchild. It needs some work and I've been so happy with my truck, I just havent bothered.
I liked it when it was my primary SUV, though. Had a couple kayaks up there...
Love those old 2 door 4-Runners! Ok. So, take me with you the next time you go buying trucks and SUV's. I feel as though there is that omega-shaped stone time portal somewhere, the one Dr. McCoy went through in the original StarTrek. Only it seems to lead you to 1987, and your pick of the litter...
We get the salt air here on the coast constantly. When it sbows, it is used all over the roads. So I used Fluid Film under my 14 Sierra, and rubberized under the little lady's 13 Terrain. Rubberizing only works if you dont already have rust. Her car was pristine so we tried it. If you have...
To make video or take photos for personal use at any public place is perfectly legal UNLESS you have to use any special equipment or do anything out of the ordinary to do it. For example, you can film anything you want as you walk down a city street, however, if you have to climb a tree to see...
Scout the ThundahBeagle still likes a nice long hike. 4 hours? Sure. A whole day? Sure. So we hike a little. Kayak where we can. Rummy/ Canasta/ Buraco is a fun but sure way to get people arguing about card rules. The game can take a while and so does the argument.
Cooking breakfast and supper...
I'm not so sure this is good. Do we not need passes to camp? They cost money. Now a professional National Geographic or Discovery Channel film crew gets a pass, and cost gets passed on to the little guy. Maybe I dont have all of the details?
As was already said, there is a difference between...
Nice setup with the interior supports! Looks like it was set up for a 5rh wheel at ome point.
Love the ladder up the back. Very 1970's van-type utilitarian vibe.
Tell me more about the ladder, too, please.
Mostly I use my 3/8 drive. Best of both worlds. I havent yet created the tool box of "only that which relates to the vehicle and accessories". So I tend to have a plastic case of 3/8 and 1/4.
The 1/4 gets used very rarely, however. And I have a lot of 3/8 sockets that duplicate my 1/4...
Right. On top of my Leer 180, I put Trac Rac (tm) Cap Rac roof rack. Incidentally Trac Rac was a Massachusetts company, just bought out by Thule a few years ago. Anyway, while the Trac Rac roof rack system could hold 500 or even 800 pounds, the unreinforced fiberglass Leer model 180 wont hold up...
Theres another thread on this around here somewhere...I think.. unless it's in a truck forum.
My take on it is these old Leer caps (I have one for my 14 GMC Sierra) wont take the weight. I think your best bet is to get one of those tubular industrial racks that have flat "feet". The whole...
All I have ever used were big blue tarps and rope. Sometimes tied to the roof rack of my big Blazer, sometimes just tied to trees. Theres no question I might have to rethink that if I wanted to set up a desert camp and run day riding trips, but I havent been out to a desert yet.
Within the last week or so, I went to Kittery Trading Post and picked up a Suunto MC-2 USGS, a Brunron TruArc 5 and a Brunton TruArc 15 (and a couple Suunto MD Leaders, but those are for the niece and nephew). These are in addition to my very old - but still very functional - Silva Ranger Type...
@TahoePPV
Yes the Chevy/ GMC Tucks definitely have this smart alternator. I plan to install a second battery in the engine bay of my 14 GMC Sierra, and I am going to the the GM multipurpose relay and fuse block. I think they also put something on the second negative cable to measure lost...
I have a couple of "Empire" yellow composite beam levels. If I need to make sure my truck is level, one sits on the back bumper and one sits on a side step. I'm sure I could translate that to a travel trailer somehow if I wanted to.
Alternatively, my 1980's Silva Ranger Type 15 mirror-sighting...
A 3rd gen Ford Bronco! A 3rd Gen Bronco! My kingdom for a 3rd Gen Bronco!
I know this is for jerry cans, but it just reminds me of the swing out rear spare wheel carriers on those
