March was an estimate because we knew Congress wouldn’t be in session until late January so the FCC couldn’t get its ruling until February which puts it to March... but the issue hasn’t been heard in congress yet. (I’ve been fallowing this very closely) I will be posting here again as soon as...
I’m I don’t know... it seams like most companies offer a mounting solution for under the hood, so I guess the best place to mount one would be under the truck as close to the catalytic converter as you can...

The collection is in storage at the moment, I’ll be pulling it out once I start exploring again this spring. Since I full time in an RV, space is a premium and I daily a lodge CI skillet.
I see you changed this from just “10 pieces of gear” to favorite pieces of gear... which will change everything because 10 piece is my normal load out, and not my favorite pieces of gear, but my minimum requirement when heading out. I will change my top ten items below.
It’s a late 1800’s model...
Knife - K-Bar survival
Rope - any poly rope will do...
I already said specifically what kind of jack... high-lift
Cast iron skillet - 12-14” Griswald
water purification -Platypus GravityWorks Water Filter
Also a lot of clubs don’t openly list in person testing, even though they are testing... the GRRA hasn’t posted a test date in over a year, but we have tested 30 some people for technician, and about the same amount for upgrades over the past year... in fact we tested 3 people last night and...
Only ten Items:
1: Knife
2: Rope
3: adjustable wrench
4: high lift Jack
5: 25’ chain
6: blanket
7: MRE
8: water purification system
9: engine oil
10: cast iron skillet
In person testing will be a thing of the past for technicians in July of 2021 when the technician test pool changes. The software that was used for creating the exams is now obsolete as of December 31st, 2021. All clubs were told to download and print off exams for technician exams to get them...
@Veinot “Is there a functional reason or just a weight saving one?”
the mechanical advantage of the high lift handle moves a lot more weight. A huge come-a-long is rated at 5,000 lbs, but I have broken many a come-a-long pulling vehicles out of sticky clay... never have I broken a high-lift in...
@nuclear_runner i started out with a 1985 Ranger, moved up to a 1985 Bronco 2, I found them to be small so loved over to a 1960 Willys Wagon (great rig and the only one I have ever missed), then came several jeep wranglers (YJ-TJ-JK) and a couple of ZJ/XJ, then I relasized they were all too...
I’ve owned quite a few Jeep’s over the years from stage 1-5, the. I learned that Jeep stands for Just-Empty-Every-Picket and have since gotten off the band wagon. If I can’t build it, it doesn’t belong on my rig.
