First off, I get 6 mpg and have a 33gal tank. If I can do it you can to… you just need to plan fuel stops accordingly and carry extra fuel. Gear… don’t over stress it. A stock rig will go a lot of places… the only upgrades I have done to my wife’s car was bumpers… and they were more for looks...

    Recommendation for CB or PMR

Ham requires a license, but it’s not hard to get. I know the privileges differ in the Neathrrlands vs the USA, but the possibilities are almost endless with what you can do with amateur radio. You might look into it, just to see what might attract you to going that route.

Warm gloves for fine motor tasks

I have severe reaction to cold in my hands. I have had frostbite too many times to count and now my hands hurt when the temps drop below 39 degrees. Over the years I too suffered from the glove conundrum. This year I wanted/needed to commute to work by bicycle. Looking over all the options...

    Finally after two years married

My first overlanding trip I was still in diapers. My grandpa had a ‘77 Ford F-250 Camper Special that he used to take me and my two cousins to fish the Oregon coast. I was about 2 years old and my cousins must have been about 6 and 9. The thing I remember the most was sippin’ grandma’s hot...

How do you carry your bikes?

E-Bike restrictions pertain to trail systems in general, not just mountain bike trails. And not all trails are restricted, only the trails that are very popular and populated. We have several trail systems here and all are open to e-bikes. Only a hand full of technical trails are closed to...

Some questions re radios and modes

I am running an Icom IC7100 with a Icom HM-151 mic and IV-AH4 tuner. Antenna is a 108” whip. I can tune 6-80m with a push of a button on the mic. After the initial setup I barely use the menus system as most of the settings can be accessed through the mic. my buddy is running a Yaesu 891 and...
