It will never be allowed on APRSDroid or APRS.fi because of the protocols used to send APRS data. However there is an app for GMRS/FRS location services sponsored by Polaris in conjunction with Garmin… it’s called Ride Command.

The cable should be pulling from under the drum. So if this is backwards (which it sounds like it might be), you will need to reverse the wiring for the winch controller.

I have never tried… when traveling I set up to beacon every 5 seconds if I’m moving… every 25 minutes if I’m setting still. With that said…a little birdie told me this will be possible soon on an app dear to our hearts.
