US Southwest My annual September Mojave Road trip!

I've been taking people out to the Mojave Road and Preserve for 20 + years. Although I'm no longer interested in large groups, I'm willing to take up to seven (7) trucks, thus avoiding having to get a NPS Special Permit. This is my second trip of the year, first one is Always Easter weekend...

US West My 18th Annual Easter Mojave Road trip!! April 7-9-2023

Yeah, no worries bro, like I said, Not my first time, just threw it up just in case a couple extras wanted to go. Me and my Toyota120 buddy Jon and his son are staying out for a few days after we leave Afton Canyon. Grabbing a cabin to hang out and explore off the grid and/or trail. Lots of cool...

US West My 18th Annual Easter Mojave Road trip!! April 7-9-2023

Sorry folks, I meant to post this up a couple of months ago, but kept it on our Toyota120.com site. Only have like four trucks so far, and I know this is short notice for people, but y'all can let me know if you can make it or not. My trip starts Friday April 7 and we're meeting at the Smiths...

Cancelled My 18th Annual Sept Mojave Road trip. Sept 16-18 2022

It’s open. The Paiute (Old ATT Cable Road/Old Government Road May still be closed, but you can take the bypass. There’s been no crazy rain like in July-august and Sept, so I’m sure Soda Lake should be open. Always call the NPS Rangers in Barstow for updated road info.

I canceled the Rally Point, as first, is was not worth the time with that and this thread together........so no need to have it up.

Cancelled My 18th Annual Sept Mojave Road trip. Sept 16-18 2022

So yeah.....seeing that All roads in and out of the park are technically Closed........pretty much so is this Rally point thread. I'm still going out, but seeing that Soda Lake is impassable, and we'd have to do road repairs on the Paiute pass going over into the Lanfair...

My 18th Annual Sept Mojave Road trip. Sept 16-18 2022

Hey Scott, I pm'd you my cell #, hit me up with a text. Got some new info from Dave about the condition of the park, but it's still a go! Going to start at Searchlight/Nipton (as mentioned on the last post) as there will be a lot of slow going with all of the road restrictions/conditions.

Cancelled My 18th Annual Sept Mojave Road trip. Sept 16-18 2022

Oh yeah..........there's a little problem with the roads out there again!!! Good thing I know how to get into the park!!! If anyone wants to show up, feel free to chime in. Because of all of the flooding from a week or so ago, and the new flooding they're going to get early next week.......I...

My 18th Annual Sept Mojave Road trip. Sept 16-18 2022

No, I always leave on Friday. If my buddy's JP and Mo are still coming, we will probably start on the River, if not and I'm heading out with me and the dog, then I'm heading to Searchlight, topping off the gas tank, then going up the Joshua Tree National Highway (Nipton Road) to Nipton, then...

See a lot of different medical issues, but none about snake bites while out in the desert.

Right on guys, while I've never had any issues with snakes, there's always that possibility.......So why not bring it up? So, funny that I get more people responding to this than to my Rally Point or Tripp Planning threads! Lol!! Think I just got those up too late. Anyway, my dog is a healthy 96...

My 18th Annual Sept Mojave Road trip. Sept 16-18 2022

It depends on the weather, but if it's going to be anywhere around 100*, I'm heading to Live Oak Canyon, at least it's up a little higher elevation vs Beale Mt., and the Sunsets from there are amazing!! I don't know that hoping on I 40 really would save you much time......may be quicker to...

See a lot of different medical issues, but none about snake bites while out in the desert.

Nice, that was helpful and the conclusion is the same as I had deduced....... But that example was a bite to the arm, most bites would be to the lower leg/ankle......kind of hard to immobilize and raise that to the level of the heart. I'm sure the overall advice is the same, just the...

See a lot of different medical issues, but none about snake bites while out in the desert.

I See a lot of different medical issues discussed here, but none about snake bites while out in the desert. I've been reading up, but there really doesn't seem to be any real way to not die if you're out 100 miles away from any hospital and get bit. So, if there are any Real medical...

Cancelled My 18th Annual Sept Mojave Road trip. Sept 16-18 2022

Wow, no one wants to go? Temperatures will drop by next week.......should be more normal temps by the 16th!! And the price of GAS has gone down quite a bit, so it's somewhat affordable to fuel up for a trip now as well!! So I'm confused.......about the lack of participation, but I'll get over...
