Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
9 July 2020: Leave Salt Lake City, drive to Mexican Hat, UT. Camp between the San Juan River and Mexican Hat Rock. All paved highway until the Mexican Hat Rock turnoff, then easy dirt road to camp sites.
10 July 2020: Depart Mexican Hat, UT about 10am and drive through Valley of The Gods...
Chris, what are you driving? I'll tell you if I think you could do Lockhart Basin once I understand that. I used to have a JKU with a 2.5" lift on 35" tires and would feel very comfortable taking it on - except for the really narrow part - in that. In my Tacoma with a 3" lift and 33" tires...

I did 3 days on the White Rim Trail last month and got a little bit of dust in them, but nothing...
I agree. I’ve not done the Utah Traverse, but if you take the dirt roads, it can be a 5-day trip in itself.
Stay mostly on pavement, with a side trip or two, and you could get across in 2 easy days and have 3 days in Colorado.
