Must admit always makes me happy when I see my driveway filled with my Land Rovers.

I had an opportunity to help a mate install and to get a look at the Maggiolina Carbon Fibre hard shell roof top tent.
I had looked at these thinking they would make a good replacement for my Hannibal 1.6m Roof Tent.
The attraction was the lighter weight and the speed and ease of setting up...

So spending the morning looking at ways to mount the solar panels with the roof tent set up.
Looking good so far but needs a little refinement but 1 panel each side of the apex on the tent and I'm charging away.
Happy days.
So how do you do yours?

A friend asked me to assist resolving some issues on a Russian customers Defender 110 Double Cab. He had been to Germany and without any real research or thought booked his Defender in to get upgraded.
The job at first glance was looked great however I was asked to look at an issue with the Aux...
Well today was a nice surprise as my Emblem and Members Cap turned up after being sent out in the middle of December and presumed lost.
I contacted Overland Bound HQ a week or so ago to see if they could track the shipment and Megin jumped through hoops to try and help out but it could not be...
So made some progress installing the new Victron MPPT Solar Charger and Controller and the Flexible Solar Panels.
When down the MPPT route as we are using 2 x 60W Panels to give us a more efficient charge.

Today started off looking like it would be a day inside due to thunderstorms and rain however I'm happy to say the weather cleared in the afternoon to allow me to get on with the rear door shelf for the cooker etc.
The rear door shelf is something that we have been thinking about for an age but...
I don't know about anyone else but being without my Land Rover Defender and also the Trailer feels like I am missing a child.
There is a feeling of emptiness or an itch you don't know how to scratch.
The Missus will ask what I intend to do today and without the Land Rover or the Trailer to...
90 Days to go until the big adventure begins.
Lots to arrange and sort before the start. Everything seemed to be in the distant future but now Christmas and New Year is over everything seems much closer and imminent.
We are a mixture of nervous and excited, nervous in that we ask ourselves...
Hi we will be touring Europe in 2017 from around May for 12 months. In April we will be in Turkey.
Anyone out there interested in meeting up at some point. If so let me know your locations and we can add them into our plans.
This picture was taken on night 5 of our 14 day safari drive around Namibia in May 2016 .
This one picture for me sums up everything about overlanding and why I love it.
My partner and I are currently planning for a year long trip exploring Turkey and Europe.
Start location is Limassol Cyprus, where we will travel over the green line into the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to catch an overnight ferry to Turkey.
Planning is almost complete for Turkey...
