I'm in the Twin Cities. The issue with trails here in the winter is that they're closed and become snowmobile trails.

Anyone else getting cabin fever? I just want to get outside and go explore, the snow and cold say otherwise.

I think you could do a HAM Radio Equipment thread in the Overland Communications forum since that's where most of the radio talk is at.

In my experience the vehicle going up the trail has the right of way. They generally have to work at it more than the vehicle going down. However, if a vehicle has already started coming down before you make your way up, I would give them the right of way and then after they pass continue on.

I hate to say it, because that is one clean WJ, but they will probably total it. Maybe you can buy it back and turn it into your dedicated overland rig and get something different for dding?

I need to study for this and get my license. Everyone in the overland group I'm part of runs HAM.

Definitely interested in seeing what you do with the Renegade. When they first came out I hated em, now I love em and my fiancée wants one. I told her as long as I can put a lift in it, I'm good.

That's the issue with most Jeep forums. They tend to be filled with rock crawlers and if you're different they're quick to judge. One of the reasons why the only thread I look at on a Jeep forum is the one about overlanding.

I'll have to think about this, it might be a toss up between a Unimog and an Earth Roamer.

I've had a few friends that put them in but the best way to get better lighting is to replace the headlight unfortunately.
