    FLASHLIGHTS

Looking for a good pencil flashlight that I can keep in a suit jacket pocket. Since I work at a bank knives are a no no, but I'd like to have something that I could beat someone with if need be. Any recommendations?

    That's Not a Knife...This is a Knife.

I've wanted to get one of their multitools for a while.

    That's Not a Knife...This is a Knife.

I'll have to post pictures when I get them, but just bought an ESEE 4 and an ESEE Zancudo. I've also got a knockoff SOG my brother gave me that's worked pretty well. As for multitools I've got a Gerber that I keep in the Jeep, and two others that the brand is escaping me right now. I keep one in...

    Volcano grill

I've heard good things about them, but have not personally used one. I've got a Weber Q that I use, while not small, it's awesome.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Looks good! I cleaned the frost off the inside of the truck and drove it around the block (gingerly) since I don't have the shackles fixed yet.

    GPS questions

It definitely has a learning curve to it. I try to play around with it in my downtime to learn more of it.

Welcome to the Western Canada thread

Was out there about 14 years ago with family camping. Went through North Dakota, to Yellowstone, Glacier, the Grand Tetons, then into Saskatchewan, Alberta, then into British Columbia staying at parks along the way. When we got to BC we stayed at Banff. This is one of the trips I want to do...

    First winter snow storm

My KM1s are about as bad as I thought they would be in the snow. They definitely like slipping around. Thankfully I had enough vehicles without ESC that I know what to do before it kicks in. At the same time, occassionaly I wish it wouldn't kick it so I could have some fun. However, when I put...

There's a thread in Off Topic discussing these as well. You should check it out and see if you can find anything that you might like. Here's the link; http://www.overlandbound.com/forums/index.php?threads/drones.482/

How do you spend your "down" time on the trail?

Most stuff around here is very heavily wooded too. Ultralights are always fun!

    72h Bag - Go/Deploy kit

Thanks for the link. I just figured that it would be a good backup to have in case you lose something, since it's light and small, but I understand what you're saying.

How do you spend your "down" time on the trail?

As have I. I got a cheap Scientific Fisherman Fly Rod for my birthday about 15 years ago, and have never used it. Was looking at either buying a new one, or using that one. Would love to learn how to fly fish though. Otherwise I normally fish, read, or just sit and relax.

    72h Bag - Go/Deploy kit

Was just thinking about this.. what about a small fishing kit? Wouldn't take much room, and would be light and provide another way to get food.
