  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

2011 Xterra low lift w35s build and adventures

Looks like a great find! They make a great family rig. We do a lot of our family traveling in ours. I envy your 3.69 gears, those were the lowest you could get in a 2nd Gen. Also, you can fit a 285/75/16 at OE ride height with just the "melt mod". Search for it on XN.

    Cancelled Western Virginia Roanoke Meet-up

Still no idea how my October will look come meet-up time. I'll know a little closer to time how it's going though. Anyone have any suggestions for the meet-up? There haven't been many folks coming out recently and I've been tied up the last few months myself. Trying to get ready for cooler...

Don't think for a second that I haven't tried to figure out a way to mount one on the side of the X. It's just never quite worked how I wanted it to!

Search out the Grits and Gravy on the Echolink app. Should be able to search the node # too I think to find it. Then just hop on and check in! Look forward to having you onboard!

Rear Drawer System with Fridge/Cooler Slide Design Considerations

I'm wanting to design a set of drawers (2) and a fridge/cooler slide setup for my 2007 Xterra. I'm going back and forth between two drawers flat on the floor with the fridge on top or stacking the two drawers on one side and having the fridge/cooler slide beside them. I was wondering what...

I'm gonna be working on the house all weekend. Trying to refloor a porch and don't know how involved it's going to be.

    When is enough really enough?

Do you not have glass covered by insurance? I keep glass breakage on all my junk. Securing that wiring is as easy as adding a few adhesive backed pads and zip ties. If the oil leak isn't killing it, let it leak a little and check it when you buy gas. You can adjust the headlights and hood...

    When is enough really enough?

That had been my plan when I was looking to buy a new Rubicon a few years ago. But totaling a $40k vehicle and totaling a $5k vehicle are different things.

That's the way to go! My solo setup is a lantern, single burner stove, hammock, tarp, small frying pan, and a simple mess kit in a 5 gal bucket with a lid I can just toss in the X and go. The full family setup is a LOT more involved for the 5 of us...

    Cancelled Western Virginia Roanoke Meet-up

We didn't make it back till about 5:30 yesterday evening and avoided the mess on 81 all together going through Craig on 42. As for October, I'm not sure I'll be able to make it. I'm HOPING everything will be about sorted by then but that's the last weekend of a 3 week long outage at work and...

Welcome!!! If you've got a vehicle and a tent, you're set for overlanding. Don't get caught up in the gear, just get out there and start seeing sights. I only used 4-low on this weekend's trip so I wasn't riding my brakes on the down hill slopes. A 2wd would have done everything I did with ease...

    When is enough really enough?

I'm not overly familiar with a Tuscon, but if it's paid for, $5k is a about one year's worth of payments on something new in the 30-40k price ranges where our SUVs tend to fall and if you dump that into it this year, will it get your 2-3 more years without much more maintenance. I'm assuming...
