Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Those are a little further out than we plan on venturing this trip. This is more of a mental retreat than an exploring trip. Thanks for the recommendations though. We're hoping to explore those next spring though!
Hey folks! The wife and I are going to be in Gatlinburg this weekend for a little time away and I was wondering if there's any places I need to check out outside of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. Just some pretty drives or little restaurants to check out for a couple hours driving in the woods. Not...
Awesome! I'm going to be there too. Probably going to have the minions in tow. We may be out there Friday night, not sure yet. Hopefully have the little trailer in tow for a first run.
Welcome from Covington, Va! You ever make it to the Berryville Hamfest? I went for the first time this year. It was pretty good.
I'm planning on going to the Frostfest in Richmond in Feburary. It's usually a good time!

I'm a leaf spring fan for the rear of a vehicle that's going to be carrying a load. Always have been and always will be I imagine. Combine that with full box frame construction and IFS and it was really my only option. I've always had a soft spot for Nissans and the wife and I had considered an...
We bought sleeping pads for the wife and kids over the weekend. Got everyone the Alps APEX pads. 3" thick, nicely made pads that we think will greatly improve everyone's comfort in cooler weather over our air mattresses. Being cold sleeping has been the biggest complaint so far from everyone in...
I added one of those cheap bolt on tire carriers to our new trailer that I'm hoping to make into a base camp trailer for us over the next year. Next is to enclose it with plywood temporarily to see if it's going to be as useful as I'm hoping or if we need to look at going with a larger trailer...
Careful, that's a slippery slope! I have 8 running lanterns of various vintages and designs (even two rare AGM built lanterns from the 50's), a 1942 242B apart for rebuild and 4 stoves. It all started with a C-list two burner and a 220K for $40 about 6 years ago...
I gave a 220E I had no...
There's no one setup that works for everyone. It depends on what you are wanting to do with the rig. There are folks in 100% stock vehicles pulling camper trailers staying in established camp grounds all the way to fully built rigs with RTTs and full sleeper platforms going up the hard trails...
I bought some instant coffee and used it this year on a week long trip in Colorado and that was HORRIBLE. Maybe it was the brand, but it just tasted burnt and nasty.
I think I'm going to have to press my Great Grandmother's percolator into service soon but I've stopped using my Stanley French Press in favor of a GSI pour through micro-screen filter that's really been the trick so far.
I've gone to an intermittent fasting diet where I skip breakfast and the...
