Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
EFI is better than a carb in every way, more reliable, less maintenance, more accurate fuel metering, cleaner burning, better throttle response and the engine itself will last longer as a result of less fuel dilution of oil and less washing of the cylinder walls. Those are facts, you are taking...
It's very cool to hear that CVT is holding up well. Some friends of mine had a first gen Rogue and it nuked 3 CVTs in 100k miles, so I naturally was sceptical. Again great to hear its holding up well, and keep showing the 4x4 snobs that XUVs can get it done too!
Stuff like this has been discussed quite a bit here. Ill start by saying what I always say, if you exceed your GVWR you do open yourself up to tickets and litigation, so tread carefully. Also the Jeep Dana44s are not the same axles as a full sized pickups, the tubes are thinner, and the axles...
Just remember, on a hi lift, maintenance is critical, always operate from the side, and before lifting plan an escape rout if you need to get away fast.
I'm a hard pass on the exhaust jack. It's kinda basic safety to shut down a vehicle before lifting. Also I have been in situations that required the engine to be off due to damage and needed lifting done as part of a recovery. If you are wary of the hi lift I would run a bottle jack. But despite...
Bead locks are a rock crawling thing for when you air down tons for traction and are putting down lots of power and or spinning wheels. Most people who run em do so for cool factor. Only type of wheel I would worry about airing down is the 16.5 due to the less pronounced inner bead ridge.
Boafengs are good, but over rated as far as power output. My uv5r that had an output of 5 watts was less capable when hooked up to my Ed Fong J pole than my Icom at 2watts with the rubber duck. It did however pick up a lot, so it was great for just listening.
I will say that they are a great...
Honestly, look at a "big three" hand held. Yeasu has 2meter 5 watt units that can be had for $70. The 2meter Icom I just picked up was $124. You will be amazed what a quality hand held can do. If I were in a pinch I would grab an entry level single band Yeasu. At least around here 2meter is the...
Just looking to make way for some new HAM gear. Works perfectly, condition is decent. I repaired a small bend to the "feet" and one screw was stripped out when I swapped out the fan (never replaced the screw) I would like to get $50 out of this guy.
I am willing to ship, buyer pays cost. Will be...
If spraying the top of the upper control arm where the ball joint is stops the sound, then the ball joint isnt securely bolted in. The ball joint should have ZERO movement in the upper control arm. What might help is have someone hold the camera at the top of wheel pointed towards the control...
For sure, I wasn't meaning to say only run one radio, just to not get rid of the CB because youre seeing more HAM usage. Anyway, I think you see more HAMs because sound quality is better on VHF and UHF and with more power comes more flexibility and range. Being limited to 4watts AM really...
Dont fully discount CB. Lots of logging, oil, and road outfits use CB, and if you're in an area where they are active its nice to communicate with them for safety.
Just a heads up, using the same bolt for retaining your coupler and safety devices is not USDOT legal. Might want to look into Canadian legality too. Otherwise that is an awesome build, super clean professional work.
