Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Understood.
I have the same issues with my truck.
It was never intended for more than maybe FS roads. Kind of the "Honda Pilot" of its day.
Basically, everything has to be fabbed.
I forgot to add in the rally description...
Trail passes are required for motorized vehicles, e- bikes, and mountain bikes to ride on these trails.
The cost of passes is: $5 for a day pass and $30 for an annual pass.
The trail passes can be purchased at the Uwharrie District Office or at...
Tyler, Is there an updated GPX, or did I do something wrong. All I see is the area in NC. I was trying to coordinate the part of the SCAR you are planning, to try to catch up somewhere in SC. ( I have to be in Greenville and Myrtil Beach during May / June.)
Thanks - Hate to be a pest -

Hey Tyler.
What part of the SCAR are you running, and what days roughly in SC?
I ask because I may be able to do part of the trip. I think you are going right by our stomping grounds in NC (Burnsville).
I just looked at the GPX file and only see the NC part of the trip.
If you're doing Hurricane...
If you haven't got the fridge yet, take a look at .
We've had ours for 3 years, and it hasn't missed a beat.

We love it.
They claim 5 minutes to heat it, but it's more like 10. Not a big deal, just start ahead and it will maintain until you flip the switch from heat to pump. The power cord is about 20 ft, so no need (for us anyway with a truck mounted privy canopy) to cary power around.

Check out the Gyser system. Half gallon of water for a hot shower. Changes your whole attitude about 3 days in. My wife and I used it on an 11 day trip. Takes up very little room. Heater is built in 12v, or the other model you pour hot water in.

Welcome to OB!
We travel some of the same areas. Will be doing a trip soon in the hot springs area if interested.
I'll tag you when we set a date, probably mid to late April.
Not a jeep owner, but I would go after the easy stuff first.
* idle air control valve and gasket
* TPS, check reference voltage at closed and WOT
* Clean the throttle body.
It might be worthwhile if you don't have an engine diagnostic scanner to get to a shop?
I would absolutely go for the fridge setup.
My wife and I went for years just heating up water and using a privy tent. Also used some kind of wash towels, "Sudz" maybe?
Having food stay cold and DRY while being able to replenish drinks to get cold is awesome. Not to mention, you can carry much...
I went from BFG KO2's to Nitto 315/75-16 Trail Grappler. While the BFG was far better in the snow and quieter, there is no comparison in rough or muddy trails. I regularly air down to 16 psi, and have run them at 3 psi in deep mud. At 16 you can barely tell any sidewall bulge.
My rig weighs in...
