I use my GPS all the time. For me there's something about a compass. I don't care for digital models. I would like to really perfect the skill of using a compass.

Stick pins would help. I have a Tacoma, and deal with the same problem. On mine, you have to press hard to make them stick.

I run the 4' firestik. Do you not like the looks, or the performance? I've been happy wth mine. I have the spring mount, and the quick disconnect. 4' is tall, but I also like the looks and performance of it. Plus it works as a whip flag as well.

Yep, though I don't have the ARB RTT, I would get an upgraded mattress. I have the Tepaui, and I upgraded to the larger foam mattress. Never felt how the original mattress felt, but I can imagine. Then again, it's still better than sleeping on the ground. You've got a great setup!
