Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Having tried the soft top I have decided a hard top most fits my needs. Mainly because of easier take down. If I am out in the boonies alone I want to cut my climbing up and around, even on a good stool, to the bare minimum. Also, there is more space to leave bedding inside a hardtop. I like...
Ya'll might laugh but after thinking about this...toilet tissue. Got to be strong and soft and preferable single layer. I don't have a parachute but if I did I wouldn't skimp on that either.
Boats are great! I have a couple. Lived on a sailboat some a while back. Right now a cold mountain stream would work wonders. At least I'm getting plenty of squash, peppers and tomatoes! I actually put a shade cover over them and they seem to like it.
I can sort of relate to that! Glad I don't have to work out in it anymore. Hardly even want to go fishing till about late September. Welcome to OB. Lots of good ideas and knowledge!
I don't think you will have any problems finding sites to see and places to fish! I did a similar trip twenty years ago (doesn't seem that long?). There are some great resources for planning in the Routes forum section. I would say pick a few areas of interest and concentrate on them. Five...
I think you guys should start a third party platform with "personal accountability and social responsibility" as the centerpiece. Got my vote! :grinning:
Sounds like you operate like me. I have some solar stuff that I have only tested. Also have two of most things. I just pack my truck until I run out of room. I've thought about an aluminum trailer...my gas mileage couldn't get much worse! I could fill up a trailer with fishing gear. Hmmm?
That looks very sturdy! Like your layout. Do you need a RTT? I have one that's one year old, used about a dozen times. I like it but realized putting the cover on while high up is not safe for old man in the middle of nowhere. I just ordered a hard shell hoping it will be easier task for my...
I would really like to visit Australia. Do you know of any programs that would provide the ability for me to do so? I would prefer not to spend MY money but I feel it is my right to have the opportunity provided to me. You know, pursuit of happiness and all. LOL
Naw, appearances are deceiving. I needed a Tacoma to negotiate the traffic during the week, I have an old full-sized 4X4 Chevy under the shed. I do have one son that is a grown-ass man at twenty and would make an Army Ranger cry to keep up with him. Did get divorced ten year ago! So, you got...
Retirement...yeeaah! I was going to pull the plug this past Spring and be headed West about now. Along about December I started to feel like I should wait a little longer. Guess I'm glad I did. Money wasn't the factor, just a gut feeling. I still get out locally but this virus thing has sure...
How can a park, or a river, or a mountain, etc., be racist? People, institutions, governments, symbols, etc. can be racist. Only education will free us from this madness. Personally I think it is mostly a ploy by foreign entities to disrupt our democratic system. Also blame Al G. and the...
Just printed a map for that area. Fished around N.C. a good bit. Would rather catch small natives than dough bellies. Delayed harvest is good. Just not the stocked yesterday trout.
Not fly fishing related but got into some great redbreast fishing this past weekend. Probably one of the better...
I visited Edinburgh and a little of Scotland a few years ago. Lovely country! I also hiked some of Hadrian's Wall. I wish I could have seen more of the Highlands. I have family roots in Scotland. Up around the Perth area I believe. I hope to get back one day. Welcome to OB!
