Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Right now, the plan is, the 4th of July Week I'm tackling the Rubicon Trail again... With my buddy Nathan from North Carolina. The more the merrier. Dates are somewhat flexible... However, Nathan won't be in Sacramento till the 3rd or 4th of July.
So, let me know if anyone is interested in...
I've got a set of 4, 35" Cooper STT Mud tires for sale.
The size is 315x70x17 also marked on the tire is 35x12.5x17
Only 4 tires because I had a blow out after hitting something on the highway... so the 5th tire is toast...
They are currently mounted on AEV Savegre wheels.
Wheels are in good...
Well. I've owned my JKU (Wrangler Unlimited) since April of 2009. I've put over 270,000 miles on it. I've got cross country three times towing a M416 trailer with an RTT on it. Taken the Jeep through the Rubicon, Moab a few times, plenty of Colorado, a whole bunch of Midwest trails, all of...
I wheel in 2wd most of the time... No need waste gas
That being said... I would much rather have the tools prepared than not have them.
The #1 most essential tool is always the one between your ears... Second to that will always be the one tool you didn't pack
It was not allowed the last time I was up there... I lost a can due to those rules...
The way they explained it. If it was empty/new never been used. Then you could transport it. Otherwise it was a no go period.
That was 14 years ago...
My understanding is that as long as you are 50 feet from the road's right away, and not on someone's specifically marked " no trespassing " property, you are allowed dispersed camping. Including in your vehicle.
Also, I took a look at your blog. Nice. I'm a little jealous. I'd love to do that...
I'm still planning on going out that way. I've got a 10 and 7 year old that will be with me.
I just know from past trips, they will need to get out and explore... A lot. Last summer we did a 8,000+ mile long trip with them. They were great but we also let them decide when they saw something they...
It sounds like we are going to be stopping to let the kids out and explore a whole lot more than you are planning.
So, I think we are going to pass on joining up with you. We might see you on parts. We'll be in the big blue jeep...
While I agree there could be an issue with some RHD vehicles... I would never try to solely rely on hand signals. The more communication the better... As long as it is only between a single spotter and the driver.
It is absolutely the spotters responsibility to realize when they are spotting...
There are some fantastic trails in the area... However, the only ones I've been on were difficult for my Rig... Which is a bit more than stock....
If you go down any, don't go alone... And, if you see no trespassing signs, follow them!
Not to mention that the moose population on Newfoundland is larger than human population!!!
I would add a couple of things. The Parks Canada campgrounds are great... But, the last time I was up there you were allowed dispersed camping with a few rules... Sorry, I can't remember them at the...
