Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Stonecutter, Nice rig. I likey the solar panels. Please tell me more on if they work good. Plan on adding those to the top of my rig too. They look like the thin flexing ones that you tape down. I'm not into to roof tents. I've parked next to some on windy nights and they kept me up by the...
Call the north fork ranger station or Bass lake station but all campsites above Bass Lake were closed. I believe the Yosemite might be to. Trees falling. There was snow down close to 4k feet. Also check out Bass lake dam I hear it might spill over this week. Carry chains they are checking for...
I got this La Crosse temp gauge and it worked great. I got it at Sportmans warehouse for $8.99 and I strapped it to my outside mirror to see the temp. What's great about this little thing it will record the min temp (coldest) and max temp (hottest). When you get up in the morning you can see...
Fishcamp update. Storm came in and it was nice. Got down to 32 and i slept fine with no heater. I did a little video and not sure where to put it so I put here for now. This is my first video on my phone so it goes. Ok no video to big I guess. I tried to keep it short for that reason but here's pic.
I got a few things to do to and now key switch. This morning my key didn't want to turn. Took a few few tries. It a great day out today. Where are you overlanders? I'm out inthewoods again
My truck sat for 6 months after Death Valley. Working. I found another Death Valley reminder. My flow master cracked and i need a new one. Those wash board roads tested this truck.
Still here at fish camp at the general store. It rained all night and still raining. The snow plow guys are here getting ready. They say the snow will come around noon. It got down to 42 degrees last night. Not bad. My sleeping bag good for 15 degrees.
I'm at fish camp this minute parked by the general store because a lot of the campsite and roads are closed.
The snow park in fish camp is closed. Sky ranch road closed about 6 miles up and campsites closed. Beasore rd out of Bass lake closed a few miles up to. You can't get to Mammoth pool...
Right now sitting in truck at the south Yosemite gate waiting for it to snow so I can get in some winter camping. This is the time I really like my full size truck bed.
Don't come to Yosemite. They have closed a lot gates and campgrounds getting ready for this storm and they closed my spot. I'm here now at the south gate its open but getting ready for chain requirements so now I'm looking for a wide spot waiting for the storm. The hwy 140 from Merced is open...
H60Flyer, sheep? I was looking for Waldo. 7 sheep, You got good eyes. Rubicon2014 great camping spot and view. Not a place to find out that you sleep walk. Great question. What do people do that sleep walk and go camping? Hum? tie themselves to a tree? Dang, now the wheels are turning.
Joshua_Lionstrong, did you get that 01 Sierra or something else? In the area that you live you'll want a lift on the truck for all that snow clearance or you'll bottom out. When it get real cold, sleeping in the truck bed with a camper is the way to go. I have a snug top camper with carpet all...
Prerunner1982, Thanks for the info. 400 watts is good for reaching way out but I have to turn it down when others are close by so I guess it does me no good on trails. I'll start looking into a good Ham radio and use the CB as a back up.
