Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Well I was suppose to leave on this adventure July 9th but will have to postpone it until next year as I will be selling my house here in SoCal and relocating to Vancouver, WA in a few months. So much to do around a house you've lived in for 27 years. Might even break it into several trips next...
Hi Mike, looks like right now the adventure north might be postponed till next year. Will be selling the house here and moving to Vancouver, WA within the next few months. I have a lot to take care of here at the house so a long vacation is out. I will want to plan this in the fall and travel...

I think you should be fine but someone else please chime in here. My son did it in a stock 1st Gen 4-runner with AT's and was fine. I do not think he even engaged 4-wheel drive on the main trail.
I'll be around even after the move, still have family down here so "I'll be back" visiting all the family and friends.
I want to get back out to the Ord Mountains to get into some of the mines out there but need to get some other people to be with. Last time I was there by myself I did not feel...
Thanks for the info, but my plan is to head up to Dawson and over to Tok and back home through Haines and Skagway. I want to get up to Inuvick at least so if it is open to Tuktoyaktuk I go, if not well I tried. I will be leaving my sons house in Washington State mid July and be up there about...
Just what I'm doing but just going to dip my feet in. Guess my older age is making me more conservative. The Milepost mentions that about the ferry's but in the summer they stay open late. so just have to see. Happy planning.
I plan on taking Hwy 4 "Campbell Highway north out of Watson Lake and...
I did get 2 books that are for the highways up there. "The Milepost" and "Travelers Guide to Alaskan Camping" both are geared toward RV travel but they both have information on sights to see, gas and travel tips. The Milepost is especially a great book to get. Make sure you get the latest...
I'm leaving SoCal for the Dempster sometime in Mid July. I'll let you know my experiences, I'll have a writeup here in the forums. Will have a wait and see departure time as I will be waiting on my 4th grandchild to be delivered July 13th (due date). So right now I have no specific plans. I am...
Sounds great but I am leaving Vancouver, WA about mid July to head for Banff and then the Northwest Territories. Have a great time and please post a report, I would love to her of your experiences.
I like Trails Off Roads rating system:
