Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Jasper is spectacular. The town is really cute, as well, although I'm sure everything is uber expensive being that it's a tourist hub.
I'm BC born and raised, only just moved here, so I know more about BC than here, but I'll get out exploring once things settle down at home a bit.
Hey, welcome! You live in a fantastic spot. I assume, being local, you already know/have done the track to Indian Arm? If on the off chance you haven't, it makes a fantastic day trip.
If you happen to find yourself closer to Edmonton at some point in your long trip this summer, drop a line and...
We just moved to a 5 acre property in the country, and I have six kids, including an 8 week old, so I have mountains more projects and jobs to do than I have time to do them, but as a suggestion, what about some home reno projects? Almost every home has things that could be improved, fixed...
Outstanding! I just moved to an acreage about a half hour east of Edmonton, so this spot is definitely going to be one of the first I hit up. Thanks for sharing!
Well, it finally happened that I had to bid goodbye to my much beloved CR-V (details in the built thread "1999 Honda CR-V 'Ganbaru'"). It doesn't matter what you drive, though, and adventure is necessary, so here's the new ride:
2006 Dodge Dakota 4wd. 4.7L V8 engine, IFS with a solid rear axle...
Thanks :) My mind is already spinning with various ideas on how to build it out, but after the expense of getting things going here on the homestead, my bank account says I'm going to be waiting for everything except new tires lol.
It is with great sadness that I must report the loss of a great machine, and a much beloved adventure rig.
Recently I moved my family from BC to Alberta, about 30 minutes east of Edmonton. On moving day, while cruising along the freeway about half an hour from Vanderhoof, BC, the engine...
Yeah, it definitely depends how much carnage happens when it lets go. I have actually seen guys smush the ball joint back into the socket and ratchet strap the upper and lower control arms together. If I recall correctly, they also took the CV axle and lashed it to the control arm and let the...
I'm moving to Alberta on June 1st, near Edmonton. Hoping to get some insights from locals about where to go, as I gather it's a bit of a difference scenario than BC where 95% of the province is rugged mountain wilderness. Cheers!
You're in the wrong thread, and if you're referring to the carrying firearms while camping thread, ironically the canuck dude who was all anti AR-15 actually did change his mind.
I wonder if that blackie hadn't been fed or grown used to eating garbage or something. Usually blackies are big cowards that fold the second you stand up to them (unless it's a mama with cubs, then watch out!). A perfect example of why it's a very good idea to have a firearm when out bush! Glad...
It's infuriating, for sure. I try to keep telling myself that I'm being the change I want to see, and knowing that there's a big community like OB (and others I belong to like 4wd Association of BC) who are out constantly doing the same is encouraging
