  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

How do you cope when you're stuck at home?

I'm very blessed that my work phone has unlimited data, and my employer has no issue with us tethering to our phone and working from almost anywhere. I often go out to the "bush office" to work. Nothing like an office with a camp fire!

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Using it for what it was built for! Every scratch is worth the fun and adventure that comes along with it :D Wear em with pride!

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Blasted a whole bunch of rust off the "beam" that runs in front of the radiator. So much rust dust was coming off I had to wear my respirator lol Hopefully the blasts of anti-rust paint will help preserve the vehicle a little longer than it would otherwise last. Before: After: I didn't bother...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I have the same problem with the mobile app, it never uploads images properly. Doesn't give any error message either. I guess it's the file size.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Mounted a pair of 10,000lb rated recovery hooks to the front frame rails. Next will be to blast off some of the rust on the front body member, then move on to blasting off the rust from the lower doors and rockers and making a sweet rattle can two tone paint job. edited to add pics.

    Alberta Outdoor Adventure Expo

Hey all! Wanted to post this since I haven't seen much about it here: https://www.aoaexpo.com/ I bought my tickets already. Looks to be similar to BC Overland Rally, which I've attended twice before Covid hit and was an absolute blast. Hope to see some OB members out there!

    Boz's Blunder: Lessons Learned

Outstanding debrief! I wonder if you served in the military, because your after action report is very detailed. Let me say, thank you so much for having the courage and humility to share your experience so that the rest of us can learn from both the good and the bad. I'm not afraid to say that...

    In Hot Pursuit

That water tank is sick. I would love to get one of those. I bet they're expensive though lol. Your doggos are adorable :)

2006 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4wd SLT - "Rumble"

Hello fellow Overlanders! Due to a confluence of unforseen circumstances, I was forced to give up my cherished 1999 Honda CR-V adventure rig and purchase a new vehicle. As we recently moved to an acreage in the country, I had a need for a pickup for the first time in my life for hauling hay...

    1999 Honda CR-V - "Ganbaru"

You can almost always do that, it's just a question of how much money you want to spend lol That's my big problem. 6 kids and a huge mortgage now with the bigger property we bought, not a ton of cash left for adding doodads or improvements to my new old truck.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Very nice. I bet people think you're a cop all the time when you're behind them on the freeway with that bush guard lol

    Overlanding "Fulltime"???

Outstanding pics! Many thanks for sharing. Nice to know the NWT is "open" again without anyone hassling travellers. I'll never forget Ray Hyland's hilarious story about being the first to drive the summer road to Tuk. When they stopped in at the general store/post office/town hall to ask where...

    Dog's & NOT Overlanding

If we do a family trip, we usually take our Shar-Pei. I pretty much never take her if I go solo. We're the third owners, and she came with some baggage from the breeder and the previous owners. Long story short, her breeder was a bit of a dummy and sold her to an old lady who couldn't handle...

    2001 Dakota QC Diesel

Absolutely sick build. I just bought a 2006 Dakota, so I'm looking around to see who else is running them. Cheers!

    Post your rig

I've often looked at those and thought they'd be pretty decent little adventure vehicles. Looks like you put it to good use! Welcome aboard, and thanks for the kind words. I'm already scheming about mods to the Dakota, much to my wife's dismay lol.
