Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Be advised that is the week of the Terlingua Chili cook off, which brings about 10,000 folks to the area which is already resource limited. A good bit of them also visit the park.
IMO, it depends upon what the folks you are traveling with are using, or what is common in area you are going to.
A top of the line HAM setup will be useless of your caravan is all using GMRS and the trails guides are too.
Well we are not talking about aircraft or boats..
Nor are we talking about exceeding the weight limit of the auto or the roof rack.
And since fuel carriers come in all sizes, you have complete control of the amount of weight you put on your roof and where.
Sad story. He even was armed and suspicious.
"When she (the suspect) dropped her guard for a second, and lowered her gun for a second, he pulled out his gun and told her to get on the ground,’’ Paulus said. “She started messing with her gun and it was jamming but they shot at each other.”
IMO...
In my most recent build (LC200) I decided to isolate as much as possible from the factory vehicle. So instead of tying into the vehicle electrical system, I run a large Goal Zero (1500X).
ARB fridge runs off a Goal Zero Lithium 400 which is recharged when vehicle is on. Portable solution allows me to move to other vehicles, and is full contained in cargho area (LC200, Sequoia, etc).
