Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
It does everything that I have ever needed it to do. I don't intentionally go looking for rock crawls and other extreme obstacles. It has made it through some pretty good washouts, and it's made it through some of th emore difficult lines getting up to the top of Bald Mountain.
Like everything...
With 5 weeks to go. I guess it might be prudent to start looking at alternative ideas... When I was out in Prineville a couple weeks ago, there wasn't much snow. Maybe we just play it the same as last year, and work the issues as the come.
If it's still really bad, we could always take the...
I recently purchased the 95L Dometic dual zone fridge/freezer. It didn't fit quite right.
So, the solution is to take out the second row of seats so it fits, right? Hopefully I'll have some video of the install. But here are some pictures of the process.
I haven't built the drawers yet...
I didn't run this section of the ORBDR on my trip last summer. What do you have left to do with the truck? I can't imagine that there will be much that requires a lot of modification.
I usually use FRS/GMRS as the primary mode of communications on my trips. Partially because you can get them pretty cheep (handheld), the quality is (in my opinion) superior to CB, and they don't require a test like HAM does.
Since the handhelds are usually purchased in pairs, there are...

Travel the back country between Prineville and Seneca Oregon, along a modified version of the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route (route 4).
Primary communications: GMRS Channel 20 - No Privacy Code - 462.6750 Mhz
I have extra hand held units - a GMRS license is no longer required if you are...
For anyone interested, I'll be rolling into Bend sometime Friday evening, spending time on Saturday at CVT, and then heading out to find a place to make camp for the evening.
If anyone wants to meet up, let me know!
I'm going to be in Bend Saturday, and was looking to see if anyone knew of a good spot to sit around a campfire, chat, drink some beer, and maybe eat some food...
If anyone knows of a good spot, or wants to meet up, let me know!
Sorry for taking so long to the the Rally Point set up for this.
My goal is to get it done this week (of course, i did tell myself the same thing last week...)
When I do, I will link it here!
Bring copious amounts of bug spray and citronella candles. There may still be snow in some of the higher elevations.
The ORBDR routes aren't quite as streamline as the other BDR routes. I would plot your fuel options before you hit the route.
I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make it to the NWOR, but if I can, I'll surely let everyone know.
The ony Jeep Forum I used was jeepforums.com but there are technical reasons (no https) that I don't use that site anymore.
Feel free to reach out in whatever method is easiest for you!

Unfortunately, I don't know exactly when the Olympic trip is going to be. If I had to guess, I would imagine it will be in August. I...
