Tons of adventure up the M1 for sure! M6 also leads to lots of great locations along the ridge to the East of Hull Mt.
even with big fallen trees there are enough roads up there to find your way around the blockages.
MNF is a seriously good time! I'd recommend, Lake Pillsbury and Letts Lake if you're looking for spots by water.
Pillsbury is the largest lake in the forest and has some good easy camp sites along the northern edge; Navy Camp, Oak Flat, and a few at Sunset Point. I've only camped at Oak Flat...
I'm late to the party, but this this forestry page shows the current snow depths!

hope you guys find this useful.
Yep, Lakes Basin Recreation Area (and Gold Lake Highway from Bassetts to Graeagle) closes once winter sets in. Its already been snowing up there a bit although I dont think its sticking yet.
Here's a web cam at Bassetts Station at Hwy 49 and Gold Lake Highway...
In addition to Ronny Dahl, I also really enjoy Aussie Four Wheelers. I love their enthusiasm, that they don't play music over the action, or try to wax poetic. Even though I'm not personally into rock crawling, their videos are great for learning how vehicles react to large obstacles...

EDIT: I uploaded the MNF MVUMs here. (The full forest map is almost 18M so it wouldn't fit here.)

Actually, it wasn't direct. There are a lot of you! And thats fine, but it makes it hard to share your pics if we can't see them without following you. :innocent:
And this is why I've given up on a lot of National Parks, they're just a victim of their own success. There are so many other wonderful places to go that aren't overpopulated by tourists. I'll probably never go back to parks like Yosemite. Sure they are beautiful but the crowds defeat the...
I hope you dont regret it, KDSS is fantastic! Its been around for years on other Toyota models without any problems.
The only real limitation is that it can not be lifted more than 3 inches. All parts relevant aftermarket parts are specifically made for KDSS or non-KDSS models too.
Google is a fantastic resource! I found a few pages that could be helpful;

Then again, I guess its just not the same as hearing it from Michael's...
