Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Lord, I was born a ramblin' man
Either that, or I got started fishing early and often and finding the next good spot has now become my reason to get up in the morning...after the coffee. I have always liked camping in quiet...
I have found lots of good campsites and dispersed camping areas looking at Google Maps. Mostly by scrolling around National Forests. Found some real gems just looking along my planned route. Look for the green shaded areas. Zoom in on satellite view and see what's around it. I think it was...
I spent several weeks in Wyoming back last August. I was on a fishing mission. I found many great fishing spots from the Bighorns to the Beartooths. I mainly camped on NFS lands in dispersed campsites. If you plan to come or go through Yellowstone from the NW entrance a good trip is through...
These can be handy in the right place. Worked for me for a 5 lb. cylinder. I also put a cable lock on it.

No matter where you go be prepared for some wind. I was up there in November and first few days were calm. Then a front moved through and about 10 pm the wind got up and...it was a long night in my RTT. I had a better plan to tie things down but I got a little lax. Luckily, I had put away...
I've only been caught in big winds a couple of times. The flapping was not generally the problem but the rocking of the whole platform like in an airplane in turbulence. I can deal with that occasionally. Sleep is overrated when you get old anyway. Went from soft top to hard top. Big...

I'll look for your rig down that way since I fish down there some. Probably be on the Wando sometime this week.
Picture from last week down near Beaufort.
Cooper Creek is a very neat campground in a scenic area on the creek. The FS roads are/were in good shape and the store down on Hwy 60 had good food.
Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests - Cooper Creek Recreation Area
There was some dispersed camp sites further up the creek.
I think I heard a Bentley is the best ride. I've only ever seen pictures of them. My personal experience is: My old '90 Chevy truck, that's been rebuilt several times, and has custom seats, is a pretty smooth ride. My '17 Tacoma is not a comfortable ride. But, it will get me a lot of places...
Yep, that's why I sold my soft top and got a hard top. Too hard to fit and zip the soft cover and climbing around out in the middle of nowhere was just axing for trouble. Luckily, with the hard top, I barely have to leave the ground. The height on my rack is perfect to reach and walk...
Just take the tires off. That would slow them down some. They tell me locking the hitch isn't very effective for a determined thief, They can just use the safety chains or other chain to tow it a ways. I use a tire boot thingy like dis...
