Thanks for the update! I'd be coming from Bear Valley, so not making the trek all the way from Oakland for the day. If I go I'll definitely check out the hot springs. I suspect the fishing would be good in that area as well.

Here are some other views from the top. Some of these are after a hike and scramble to the end of the ridge to the left. You can see the Bear Valley ski area, Salt Springs Reservoir, and the Mokelumne River valley.

Is anyone heading into Corral Hollow near Bear Valley next weekend? I'd like to tag along for the day, assuming a stock TRD Pro 4Runner is acceptable company. It would be my first trip in there, so I'd prefer not to go solo. I won't be camping...cabin in BV. Let me know. Bill
