Great thread, started looking cuz I plan on using super strut to build a rack system. I really like the water tank idea tho. Hope to see more projects. It was inspirational
Everywhere my wife and I go we collect a rock or two. I've got rocks from Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, and Oregon. My favorite to collect is actually obsidian. Something that in my part of Oregon isnt very common.
I bought them at a local tire pros. These are 315/70r17, sadly that's the biggest they get. Lol well those are the old kos, so I'm sure there was some dry rot in the tire. Also played a little too hard in the snow that day. Big o and les Schwab gave me the price of 1800 on the ko2s at my tire size
I really like my nokian rockproofs. I've put about 20 k on them and haven't had any issues with them. I ruined my kos and when it came time to by new I looked at the ko2s, priced out in my area cheapest I could find was 1800 for all 4. A few guys on a different forum suggested I look into nokian...
I put gas in my thirsty girl, 36 gallon tank, the pump actually kicks off at 100 bucks and we have to start another transaction to fill it lol. Also started my patch collection on the headliner.
My wife used egg carton chunks, sawdust, covered with wax, then wrapped it in a napkin with a tail. Works pretty good actually. I'll have 2 let her know about the doritos lol
Awesome list, my wife and I have been thinking about the Christmas valley area for some time, might have to use your route and expand on it. Good job though it's a great list hopefully I'll be able to explore some of them in person
I've been considering rough country 12,000 pound steel cable winch. Mostly cuz it's the best I can afford. And their hidden winch plate would work well with their own winch. I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet though.
My group will be leaving that morning, we only have about a 3 hr drive from roseburg to brothers. I wanted to leave Thursday evening and stay in bend, the other couple in my group didnt want to go up by themselves in case something happened. So we will be convoying up there lol.
After a few years of running around on the beach I've noticed some rust developing underneath my cab corners. I noticed it when giving the truck a bath. I've been looking for a way to save my truck. So thanks guys and op I'll use some of this info to hopefully save it without a ton of body work...
Since this is the thread that actually has a previous invite to one of Casey's open invitation overland trips ill post up this years open invite.
I've been watching his channel religiously lol. Been waiting all year for this. Hope I get to see a few ob members on this trip
Well thank you very much, I agree so many folks stay away from full sized rigs its almost a rarity to see. I think my next mod will be a winch and winch plate. I'd also like 2 get 2 bigger lights for the a pillar. But maybe I'll build a tray for the tool box, to house the saw and spare parts for it.
