Well it isnt that its required. Even with 4x4 I've been bogged and stuck. But I wouldn't get crazy with my family with me. It's a solid piece of insurance to help you get home. Throwing a locker in, bigger tires and a lift won't help by itself. I'd say if your going to spend the money on that...
