Putting “interesting” sights on the map

Mods. Has there been any consideration about being able to put interesting or unusual sights/places on the ob map?

Good eye! That’s exactly where it was.... Beautiful area. One thing that sticks out at me on this trip were the number of hunters I encountered. They were out in mass.

There was another one I saw too. I think it was clear chili water? If I’m remembering correctly it was something about no limit on non native trout.

I used Gaia on my iPad tethered to a Garmin Glo 2. All pics were taken with my iPhone.

This was on the ERT. There was no issues like this on the NMBDR. Yes I think a spotter would have greatly helped.

Switched our Ford Escape for a FJ62 LandCruiser

Sweet man! It make sense now that you mention it. I love the older vehicles due to the inherent simplicity. Parts availability can be challenging at times but when you know your vehicle you can usually work it out. Here is my trip report on the trails I mentioned...

Switched our Ford Escape for a FJ62 LandCruiser

Pretty ambitious man. Hope progress continues to go well. There is a little different mindset needed when over landing older vehicles like ours. Im sure you know that already. Lol I’ve done parts of the TAT. You won’t be disappointed. Just recently did the NMBDR and the ERT. Couple of great tracts.

My ground clearance was not adequate and scraped my skid plate and belly pan frequently. At one point I was dragging the truck on the belly pan over an obstacle and when it dropped off is when I dented the drive shaft. Not severely dented but yes it is causing a vibration. That picture was of...

The rest of the trip was uneventful other than beautiful scenery. Here are a few more pics. Dried-up lake. 2 weeks and about 1600 miles later I made it home. Had a great time and would do it again in a heart beat!

Few picks in the Santa Fe NF. !!! There has been an important change on the original path of the ERT as it goes through the Santa Fe. Where the original path came out of the forest and onto easements of some private property, new land owners from Cali have installed fences and gates. This...

I was sitting at an abandoned store in Cimarron eating lunch and these guys walked in front of me.

Here are a few picks heading south on the ERT into New Mexico. The ERT parallels a managed trout stream for quite awhile. There are signs along the way saying “red chili waters” and “green chili waters” referencing the various fishing regulations. More to come...

2 weeks on the NMBDR, ERT, and some wandering.

From Antonio I headed to the San Luis valley to some blm land to camp and determine my next course of travel. Some views from camp. Still see snow cap on some places. Since it had recently snowed in the Medano pass and likely to be muddy with high creek crossings I decided to bypass that...
