Yes the clutch fluid is DOT but the trans fluid uses Mopar not ATF. Also the newer TJ motors are a disteibutorless motor. Maybe oil pump drive you are thinking?
NSG370 can be picky about fluid. They like specific Mopar fluid. You can check if it's dirty and change it out but may have a syncro that's a little rough.
Nice looking rig! I would check all the cheaper parts before diving into the steering box. If it has a PSC box then the lines and lower steering shaft have been changed out to make it work. If you have gone through all the other options f tie rod ends and track bar bushings I would check to...
Things have slowed down a bit on the Jeep. I recently quit my job and working on relocating to be closer to my wife's family so that we have a bit of extra help with our kid since we cant get daycare anywhere near where we are now. On the plus side, my jeep fits in the new garage. Just barely...
The next project will be to figure out where to mount this and wire in a second battery for auxiliary power to the back of the rig. After the last trip pout I liked having the basket mounted in the back but the stuff under it was harder to access than I had originally thought. I think a slide...
There was a CJ5 with us with a 5.3 that caught on fire on the highways . took him most of a day but he was back out wheeling by the end of the next day out. collector on the header came appart at melted the oil pressure sending unit and started spraying oil under the Jeep. engine backfired...
Starter only runs for a short time . Back when I had my blazer, any time it got cold I had to heat my starter with a blow torch every time so it would thaw the ice out before starting. After work, before work, at the mall, every time lol.
to each their own I suppose. I understand that parts cant be found at a Napa or in some countries for that matter, but this rig never leaves north america and was basically build by myself and friends. I have been known to "trail fix" things in odd ways but they always work to get me through to...
some more pictures are starting to pop up. Still waiting on photographers and videographers to show us what they got but it should be great. Now I need to re-wire some of the electrical for my lockers, as I had some issues with the rear blowing the fuse a few times during the trip, and run the...
Thank you. I had some issues with my rear locker blowing a fuse but I didn't break anything major. I also leaned my soft top into a tree a bit so there are some small holes in it. Overall though it was a success and I can't wait for the photographer's and film crew to share their side of the story!
There were some issues with breakage, a jeep gladiator snapped a front axle ujoint and stretches the stub shaft which were able to repair on the trail. One of the jeeps lit on fire going down the highway because the collector on the exhaust came apart and lit the oil pressure sensing unit on...
Well the trip out with 4WD and overland magazine was a success. No breakage ( for me) and some good hard trails run that I had never been to before and would definitely go back. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of my Jeep running many of the obstacles but I have some pictures of a few of...
Recently my dad came across a dual battery wiring system at an estate sale so he grabbed it for me. All of $5 and I am able to run a second battery... as soon as I have time to install it or pay off my visa after all of the recent expenses lol. I also hve to make it the 3 hours to go visit him...
